Strictly 2024

I genuinely don't care who wins now. I think they all have a strong argument to do so, or can claim real highs. I'll probably go for Sarah/Vito, but now he's made it to the final amd I've reached max seasonal Vito penetration, I'm suitably satisfied.

Yes I think this is Chris's to lose, what with his whole story. I'd love Sarah to take it though. JB and Tasha are outstanding but I think the public votes will be for the two non dancers/underdogs

I'd have preferred to have seen Sarah's paso doble again. Not keen on reviving couples choices when it's pretty much a showdance anyway.

So Sarah turned down Nikita, but drew the line at Neil?

You just need Craig to come in and break up the love in sometimes. One of the lifts looked quite clunky to me.

I wonder if Aljaz will be back next year, or if this was a one and done deal. It has been nice having him back but he hasn't felt essential.

The judges really are patting themselves on the back aren't they? I'm sure the pros/choreographers were saying all the same things anyway.

This is a terrific final so far, despite me only really giving a shit about one of the couples coming in to it.

All the show dances were brilliant, and the Tasha brother surprise made me cry. (I always cry at a family member surprisingly not being in Australia on TV shows).

I just need Sarah and Vito to get a 40 for their final dance (and then surprisingly win) for this to be a perfect episode.

I thought JB had a blank moment at the end of that Samba, surprised Craig whipped the 10 paddle out.

That Mewwy Cwistmas means I can't begrudge JB his 40s

I wonder if Aljaz will be back next year, or if this was a one and done deal. It has been nice having him back but he hasn't felt esessential.

I wondered the same a week or two ago. And I don't think he's been quite as excitable as he was before his break - although perhaps that's just in comparison with Vito, who is of course excitable every time he appears on screen.

Chris has this in the bag surely especially with the judges after his last dance.

I'm glad Sarah got her 40, even though I'm not sure of her routines that was the one that most deserved it - despite Vito's remarkable outfit.

As soon as Craig gave Chris a 10*, it was a given that Sarah would get her 40. Hooray.

*not actually deserved if we're being honest, but also: totally the right call

I really want to know who dropped out at last minute for us to end up with two Raye performances over two weeks. In the semi and final, no less.

I know she won lots of Brit Awards, but 'name a Raye song' would be SUCH a fruitful round on Pointless

I'm sure at least two weeks ago it was announced she was doing both.

I really like Chris so I had no problem with him winning whatsoever.

In the absence of him doing it though, I'd have wanted Tasha to win - her showdance was magical.

The 20th anniversary show was a lovely watch. Inevitably there was a recency bias but quite a lot of ground was covered. They showed quite a bit from the first series, it really did look so different back then and the judges were practically sat on top of each other.

The in memoriam section did get me a bit :(

Delighted to see the doc's feature-length. I'm saving it as a POST-CHRISTMAS TREAT

I assumed I'd be watching it with my mum this afternoon, but she's decided she's had enough of Strictly and put on the Last Christmas documentary instead.

I fully expect that come February, when she's moaning about there being nothing on TV and missing Strictly, she'll watch it then.
