The White Lotus (HBO not so Limited Series)

Well I did not see THAT ending happening

I thought they telegraphed in the last 30 minutes. So do we think the gays are going after Tanya’s money or did her husband send them? It makes sense with how upset he was she brought the assistant with her.

Well the Wyoming cowboy could be her husband maybe ?

this is better than season 1 so far.

Season 1 was perfect, this season is phenomenal, I’m really loving every second of it.

My only critique is Valentina’s sudden obsession with Isabella. I thought the interaction with Mia was handled a lot better.

fucking hell. episode 5... :disco: a masterpiece hour of television. the opera scene made me weirdly emotional. I felt like every character had a moment to shine, the direction/cinematography was to die for, Albie's ass is also to die for, and the scene with Daphne advising Harper to get herself a 'trainer' was so well played but pretty sad.

I found myself hoping Harper won't be totally corrupted by their new life. Valentina desperately needs someone to see her for who she is.

I have no idea what to make of that cliffhanger...

what I love more about this season is that it's very obviously less designed to shock or provoke or be completely weird, and the characters feel more human. all of them are likable on some level.

"Wow, these are some high end gays" :D

Fabulous episode. I was getting a bit concerned that Tanya was actually a bit surplus to requirements this series considering all the other plotlines, but she really shone this week. I was genuinely worried she was going to get MURDERED when Tom Hollander made that sinister speech about beauty.

The scene with Daphne and Harper - was Daphne 'accidentally' showing the photo of her blonde haired kids supposed to imply that they're actually her trainers and not her husbands? :D

I wouldn’t be surprised if Daphne murders her husband by the end of it. I think the actress playing her is really shining.

My death list:

1. Tanya murdered by the gays
2. Cameron murdered by Daphne
3. Lucia murdered by Cameron or accidentally

Probably overthinking, but considering Daphne finds the bodies and isn't like "OMG MY HUSBAND/MY FRIENDS!", I'm assuming it's either the prostitutes (though that's being signposted so much I think probably not) or the Di Grasso family who are going to end up dead, since they're the ones she's had no interaction with thus far, and I can't actually see them killing Tanya.

The three generations of straight men dying of some kind of TOXIC MASCULINITY related misadventure would certainly be on theme for this show.

Poor Albie but also his white knight complex is off putting.

We’ve seen Daphne react to things. If she killed her husband I would expect her to be calm and collected.

I have Albie snapping and killing Lucia once he realises he's being played like a fiddle high on my potential death rankings.

I can’t see any of these getting murdered. Maybe Cameron, but then Daphne would have realized he was gone for a while.

Maybe the husband has put a hit out on her?

I think that's quite outlandish, especially as they already established he'd get nothing in a pre-nup if she left him. But I've seen it floated about.

Albie is definitely the one I'd bet on to snap. especially after all the stuff about being so different from his dad and grandfather. but I hope he won't off poor lovely entrepreneurial Lucia.

she's amazing. the Harper role is juicier but the Daphne actress is totally holding her own.

Since it's been pointed out to me, I can't stop looking at who the cast are assigned in the opening titles.

The final scene was a gag, but also kind of annoyed that
GAY SEX
was made a gag in the first place??

The scene about the personal trainer, then the shot of the child on the phone :agog:

this theory is very interesting to me

the straight cowboy from Quentin's anecdote about love is Greg. Quentin is working for Greg perhaps? presumably that isn't really his villa and he's not filthy rich at all. also those high end gays really don't look moneyed. and when Tanya arrives at the hotel in episode one, she's alone and Greg is already there. and he had not been contactable... this can't be coincidence.

I don't know if this ties into the dead body. but given Daphne's reaction when she finds it, we can probably assume it's not Cameron, Ethan or Harper?

on the other hand it could be Dominic. maybe Albie discovers that he's being played (by Lucia as well). I just CAN'T accept the possibility of it being TANYA

also, Dominic's wife who has the freakout when he calls her is voiced by Laura Dern :D I need her on-screen in season 3 taking a revenge holiday

I don't really think he is his nephew is he? It's all a RUSE. The gays are professional fraudsters and they've had their eye on Tanya before she even got on the plane. I felt like Essex boy "forgetting his wallet" in the restaurant was a clue to something. That's my theory anyway. I did at one point like VoR think that they were just going to OFF Tanya - that scene about beauty really was uncomfortable!

Loving HIGH CAMP HARPER in the last couple of episodes.

And Essex boy's arse is already the stuff of legend. I mean honestly who needs porn with this show.

I'd take Albie's arse over Essex boy's personally, but it's nice that the show is keeping all the gays satisfied.
