Who are your favourite Enya WANNABES? (1 Viewer)

I'd heard of her before, but only just got around to listening to songs by Tanita Tikaram - some from her first album Ancient Heart (1988) ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ’˜

Although 8-9 years younger, she sometimes looked a bit like Enya in the late 80s-early 90s - the video thumbnail of Tanita reminded me of these Enya pictures:

A similar thing with Tasmin Archer in the early 1990s perhaps, the media people (responsible for the music videos being somewhat 'dark' or mysterious, and the album photography) did some similar styling for Enya and Tanita Tikaram:
Ancient Heart: Amazon.co.uk: CDs & Vinyl

I like it :disco: โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿž๏ธ๐Ÿช„

They seemed to be mentioned in similar pop music articles, as Enya successfully released Watermark in September the same yearโ›ต๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŽถ:D

Tanita Tikaram still does music too, I just found this:

๐ŸŽต ๐Ÿ’
I like the kitchen as well as her music ๐Ÿ˜Š

Maybe Enya has recorded a song in the Lalique bathroom..! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ’™)
Enya would never genuinely do this ๐Ÿ˜… but of course, there were 2 Enya album watch party videos during lockdown, 4K videos etc.. hopefully some new music this year or the next! ๐ŸŽถ

I wouldn't have thought of it before, but since seeing this (and congratulations to her for winning Eurovision twice! ๐ŸŒ ) clip of Loreen:

๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŽถ

The Cheeky Girls ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š
Gabriela and Monica Irimia, who were discovered on Popstars: The Rivals (that was still before I was born) :eyes:
Everyone's probably heard of their Cheeky Song ๐Ÿ˜… but they released more, including this catchy song (with 2 remixes) last year :D

Could be the other way round  Enya apparently bought 3 copies of this Christmas single, at least one for herself :grin:๐Ÿ’—:santa:๐ŸŽต

The sisters' 'backstory' is interesting, sad that they were actually quite isolated and dealing with anorexia, but they overcame most of the struggles, and they seem happier and just as fun today. ๐Ÿค—

INCREDIBLE

I LOVE THEM

I really want to know if the Cheeky Girls is where VOR thought his original post would end up

Florian (Dido) and Florence Welch are fairly good ๐ŸŽผ
I don't know as many by Dido but this song of course๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€

This live acoustic version ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽถ and I also just noticed that at the beginning of this month (September) the video got uploaded in 4K ๐Ÿ˜‡

Florence + the Machine - many creative songs in the early 2010s; my favourite of hers would probably be Spectrum (the original) ๐Ÿ’ฟ๐ŸŽถ

An Enya wannabe indeed - this cover and humming Boadicea ๐Ÿค—

Though they're not particular favourites, I heard a lot of radio songs by Pixie Lott and Rihanna in the mid-2000s when I was little. :)

So, this Victoria Louise Lott told everyone she was Italian, until she found she was Irish, haha.
I kind of revisited some of her songs last year, and didn't realise she was 18 or so, and looked really different without the goth-type heavy eye makeup style, a decade later as a judge on The Voice Kids.
I remember All About Tonight and Mama Do (Uh Oh) were played a lot. The song that I was particularly drawn to (I also heard it as hold music at some point ) is Cry Me Out. (The album and another song's called Turn It Up )

It's Nigella background music, haha, but I was drawn to the chorus melody. Kind of mixes well with Enya's Diamonds On The Water (this) because of the 6/8 timing. :)

Okay then, for Robyn Rihanna Fenty, who nowadays appears more frequently in Boots cosmetics displays (Fenty Beauty). She was even younger when she signed to a record company, about 17. I think her/the producers' taste in samples/inspiration is fairly good, and she has catchy songs, of course. I also recently realised that she is of Irish descent, coming from Barbados. Aside from Enya as the Irish influence, I noticed the 'eh eh eh' from Dolores O'Riordan singing in The Cranberries (Zombie) that Rihanna sings like in Umbrella.
Continuing with the melancholy masochist theme, here's a version of Love The Way You Lie:

I knew of the song ages ago but only in the last few days did I find this piano/no rap version.
It's interesting that Rihanna takes a bit from the Enya 'deep cuts' too (including the sample of Enya's One By One that Rihanna used in Fading.
YouTube still credits audio of One By One as Fading. :sour:).

I used to be annoyed by it being pitched up, but don't mind hearing Enya like that now ๐Ÿ˜Š

Every time I hear the intro of the song Lift Me Up it first sounds like Enya's Journey of the Angels. Similar feeling ๐Ÿ’ญ
actor Chadwick Boseman (1976-2020) and music video director Tim Royes (1964-2007) 43 and 42 respectively when they died. :(
This for the mix, but listening to the instrumental version and Enya's separately here, the similarities are more noticeable.

Anyway, the Enya and Rihanna music similarities are compiled by me in this GIF:
Meant for a video which I'll upload eventually

Now for some bands :D๐ŸŽถ

Danish-Norwegian band Aqua! Everyone knows Barbie Girl; this was their latest performance

Still, they've got better songs than it from their Aquarium album, like Roses Are Red, and this one, My Oh My :disco: and the disco version haha

It somehow mixes rather well with Only If (which Enya released in 1997)

They are very much their own thing, but I had to mention Aqua here somewhere! Near opposite to Enya in some aspects, like touring, haha.
Still, there's something vaguely similar in their knowledge of and dedication to music that lasts. ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŒ
I discovered this short early interview

Before their recent resurgence I did know of them, and the Barbie Girl video for a while. In the early 2010s I first came across this nice performance

The most outlandish band I listen to are called Out Hud :D They were a young American band who lasted between 1996-2006, with two albums. The songs I mention are from their 2005 album 'Let Us Never Speak Of It Again'.

They're an electronica dance-type band (synthesisers and drum machine, plus vocals, real drums and cello). ๐ŸŽ› ๐Ÿฅ๐ŸŽป๐ŸŽผ

I think I discovered their name in 2021 (like Enya) but in a different way. I was searching online for songs that were hold music, and recognised this one, How Long

It featured in a 2008 film too.
This one mixes well with both The Humming by Enya and Caution To The Wind by EBTG (this) :disco:
(I'm yet to find out if that rhythm in the EBTG and Out Hud songs has a name โœจ๏ธ)

This seems to be their only music video

It's a random song, but the video's interesting ๐ŸŽจ

I really liked the harp opening of this, The Zillionth Watt

This song made it to my Spotify Wrapped video at the end :D

(The lyrics on Spotify aren't quite right
It's "tiny and few/And when you're swept to sea" )

They're kind of Enya-like with the fusion of styles and instruments to create some eccentric but well-composed music. ๐ŸŽผ๐ŸŒŸSomething powerful and slightly ethereal. ๐Ÿช„
Like the short-lived Police (but far less well-known) they disbanded early, but each continued/continue on their own decent musical projects. ๐ŸŽถ :)

Jeanne Louise Galice, otherwise known as Jain, the French singer-songwriter who did this catchy song:

I'd heard the song a while ago, without knowing the name. Definitely heard it on some advert, but later than 2015, and also played in a shop late last year.
It's an interesting tribute to Miriam Makeba (I ought to discover more songs from her too! ๐ŸŽต)
I thought it would go rather well with Orinoco Flow, and mixed it here
The official video's fun; I also like this version she did later.
Her new songs from her album last year The Fool seem interesting; I came across this recent performance:

โœจ I mixed this with the Enya and the contemporary dancers performance of Echoes in Rain here
The title song 'making of' is fairly informative, and she seems nice in spoken interviews too. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Her mentioned influences were more 70s (didn't include Enya, but Kate Bush is close enough).
Like Enya she isn't really one to collaborate (except the remixes and with Vevo, haha) and has stayed with the same producer, but she composes the music. ๐ŸŽผ
And of course, the abstractness and the moon! :disco: ๐ŸŒ

Not a particular favourite; only just heard of him :D Jamie Duffy:
He says this referring to the appreciation of strong melodies, but that seems to be it, haha. He doesn't appear to follow or have recently listened to Enya from his own Spotify, but takes inspiration nonetheless. ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿช„ Edit: he does have a playlist with Caribbean Blue in it. :)

He has this interesting piano piece called Solas (which means light in Irish) ๐Ÿ’ก

Are these 'wannabes' all singers? If not then
I just discovered loads of dresses with the name Enya  the most elaborate-looking one being this:

:RavenQueen:Kateryna Pavlenko ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐ŸŒŸ

I loved her in Eurovision, she was my favourite in 2021, pleasant in the 2020 Love Shine A Light, and her announcing the 12 points in 2022 was additionally amazing ๐Ÿคฉ

Her Eurovision performance of course:

:disco:

Quite recently (towards the end of last year) she has done a rather great cover of Zombie by The Cranberries, and even performed in Dublin:

:ireland: ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’ญ

The song Enya once said she'd like to do karaoke to is Imagine by John Lennon. Yet to hear it โ˜บ๏ธ though Kateryna and this other singer Gaia sang a rather nice cover before a football match in 2022 (this) ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ•Š

The newer song by Go_A is nicely illustrated, great storytelling, and nice she's born on a Wednesday

I know Enya was born on a Wednesday, Kateryna was, even I was. :D When they say "Wednesday's child is full of woe" I'd change that to "woah". ๐Ÿค—

This brilliant lady isn't really a wannabe, and overcame a lot more in her younger years (read this) and now with the war ๐Ÿ’ญ to be where she is now.
Someone else said she is like Enya + Carrie Anne Moss (younger of course). ๐Ÿ˜Š Singing voice and songs are perhaps closer to Dolores O'Riordan. ๐Ÿ—ฃ ๐Ÿ’ญ

Kateryna ever so slightly reminds me of Enya, and similarly does things in her own lovable way.

Gala Rizzatto - best known for the 90s song that is now a football chant, Freed From Desire :D ๐ŸŽต

The song 'Come Into My Life' which shares its name with the album is another one I quite like๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸŒƒ:

I was listening to Enya and got recommended Freed From Desire last year ๐Ÿ˜„ I'd roughly heard of the song from the football, but not of Gala herself before seeing this. As a performer she is rather active; in interviews etc. she seems more Enya-ish, quite calm and thoughtful. ๐Ÿ˜Š

How did I miss this? Anyway, this was my first thought as far as these two titans go:

Her post Come Into My Life material is temporarily off streaming, but she says they'll be back again soon. Otherwise I would recommend a specific middle 8 that would flood Enya's basement.

There are a few wannabes 'queued' :D
but I was thinking about Enya's youngest goddaughter/niece.

A sweet (and somewhat Enya-esque) photoset ๐Ÿ˜Š

There's relatively little to know about Matilda (Tilly?) but she turned 13 at some point in February 2024 (but not today as 2011 wasn't a leap year).
She is Enya's sister Brรญdรญn's youngest daughter (of two - her sister named Sinรฉad was seen photographed next to auntie Enya).

Enya in Beverly Hills, California, 1996 | Matilda somewhere in Donegal, Ireland, 2019

There are probably more but these were most fun

Nelly Furtado of course ๐Ÿ˜Š I like her personality. I'd heard of her since I was little, saw the performance medley video from yesterday, those interview clips from last year, and actually recognise Say It Right now. :disco: ๐ŸŽต
(As I've done with many songs, I mixed it here with Echoes In Rain, and it sounds rather good! ๐Ÿช„๐ŸŽถ)
(there was an interview from the World Music Awards in 2006 - same event where Enya adjusts the microphone height - where Nelly Furtado talked about Enya inspirations in the music, etc.) I like 'Broken Strings' with James Morrison too, as well as this song ๐Ÿฆ

(Enya adjusting microphone here )
Video clip of Nelly's interview is here; she mentions her and Timbaland and the sound engineer actually listened to Enya's music in the studio for vocal layer inspiration. ๐Ÿคฉ

"I think she's one of those low-key artists that many people are inspired by, but in a, you know, a quiet kind of way."
๐Ÿค—

They were around before Enya of course, but The Bee Gees have a song from 30 years ago that was inspired by Enya's music. ๐Ÿค—

Bee Gees Heart Like Mine song Enya inspired .jpg

๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’—

Well Spotify really is the new stream of unsconsiousness. Anyway, it's sighing out so many delights today (all on my likes, so no surprise). Anyway again, here is this Enya tribute and it's no secret that Enya loved it so much she lowered the bridge and galloped into town to tell everyone about it:

Vitamin C aka Colleen Fitzpatrick. ๐Ÿ˜Š
[about a question response, not who has done the survey]
I was waiting for someone to say Vitamin C for the music question! My latest 'Enya Wannabe' discovery  ๐ŸŠ I'll post about her eventually.
I was thinking of writing some essay for this :D but I think the Graduation (Friends Forever) thread has already covered most of what I was going to mention, and more (like the 2020 parody). I'll add some clips there

This will probably still turn out a bit long. :basil:

What's most inspiring about her music career is how wide-ranging it has been :disco: beginning with the dancing, acting, singing, then the Nickelodeon music vice president, and currently Netflix as a creative executive in the music department. ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŒŸ
She's not quite an instrumentalist nor composer like Enya, but she is similarly dedicated, and open to new ideas within her work.๐Ÿ’ก๐ŸŽผ

Lately (upon discovering a few of her Eve's Plum rock songs) I realised that C was more of a Debbie Harry/Blondie wannabe than any other artist. She did act in Hairspray (1988) as her daughter after all. ๐Ÿ˜…

I suppose Laura Branigan had a similar thing with being quite a bit older than most mainstream artists of the time, and particularly with the record company knocking a few years off their ages. They both had some involvement in music (the industry) before, as Enya had, and even the girl who recently won BGT, Sydnie Christmas. :)
(Voice-wise however, Sydnie has a uniquely powerful solo voice like Laura did) and as much as I admire both ladies, I couldn't say the same with Enya nor Colleen โ€“

Their power comes from how they've survived in the music industry through being strong-willed and fairly knowledgeable. :thumbsup:๐Ÿง ๐ŸŽผ

Song-wise, being 'Enya wannabe', I thought As Long As You're Loving Me being like On My Way Home ad-libbed* ๐Ÿ˜„ (then again the recent release Birds of A Feather by Billie Eilish is in a far more similar vein) but C's (the remix version for the video) lesser production than both. The Enya Amarantine-ness also with the music video for the clips where she's walking through a mystical forest, with hummingbirds. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿช„

(*Some points when mixed with Enya's On My Way Home, audio here)

Vitamin C/Colleen wasn't necessarily competitive, but kept the business-minded dedication to the projects she chose, as well as a sense of fun. She quotes herself as being "serious" and "a perfectionist" much like Enya has.

There are so many fun video clips to choose from, but this sums up her perspective quite well:

@disneyteletubby do you see any Enyesque elements in Suzanne Vega or Katie Melua or Regina Spektor?
Or Yuna? ๐Ÿค”
Of the four, I think Yuna (Malaysian singer, not the K-pop girl younger than me ๐Ÿ˜…) is slightly more Enya-esque, particular her newer songs. I'd not heard of her before, so thanks for the recommendation. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŽถ
Suzanne Vega was around at a similar time/ slightly before Enya was well-known, but other than being a bit different than most 80s music, not that similar. I got recommended the Tom's Diner song many times but didn't listen before. Quite impressive how she performs that acapella, and how it was the first song to be converted to mp3. :headphones: ๐ŸŽต
Like Katie Melua (who I'd listened to before, notably the Nine Million Bicycles song :) and since she's British has made more appearances on TV here) that style is more that "quirky folk pop style" than Enya. I'd say the same with actual Enya wannabe Weyes Blood/Natalie Mering, who does the ethereal thing okay, but it's got this "dance-y but not that danceable" thing going on.
Regina Spektor I'd only heard of because Warner Music seem to promote her and others her.
Screenshot_20240607_143728_YouTube.jpg

The artists there are all decent, American, and supposedly more popular at Christmas, haha. I like Idina's songs most, and like a couple of Michael Bublรฉ's but he gets boring after a while. Josh Groban I couldn't name a song of his, but he seems okay. Regina seems nice (continued)
I did skim through some of her songs, and I think one called The Call sounded like something Enya-esque, instrumentally. ๐Ÿช„

Now I'm waiting for something by Enya that's somewhat similar to the sound of Glory by Yuna. :disco:

@disneyteletubby - to what extent do you see pop-soul songstress Michelle Collins being influenced by Enya?
In short: as a songstress haha, not that much, except for this song perhaps (mixed with Orinoco Flow here) :D

I've no idea if Enya made it to Michelle's 80s playlist on the Virgin Radio interview though. โ˜บ๏ธ๐ŸŽต
As a person, and her approach to the industry, being up for a challenge, and notably optimistic about her career regardless of age, I suppose Michelle happens to be like that, as does Enya. ๐Ÿค—๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ’—

Of course, Michelle is primarily an actress, known for being Cindy Beale in EastEnders (and her return last year after around 25 years)

Yesterday evening I sort of went down a rabbit hole of Michelle Collins interview clips, the latest being the This Morning one from a few days ago, which included a bit of EastEnders. (I don't watch it or other soaps, but my mum used to, and she knew about Kathy Beale) mentioning her since it was an option on a Beat The Chasers episode that was aired yesterday by chance :D
I soon found out the kindly woman is naughty Cindy's mother-in-law, the slap etc.. ๐Ÿ˜…

I also saw an episode of Ready Steady Cook from 1999 (when Michelle also did the Sunburn programme, haha) where Fern Britton was presenting (Ainsley presenting is far better but he was there of course) and she was up against Darcey Bussell, still in her more reserved ballet show days. (She seemed a bit much on Strictly I thought ๐Ÿ˜… and the radio interview that Enya was on in 2015).

Anyway, both Michelle and Enya won against Darcey (with the cooking, and the autograph signing) on the BBC, and both go on a fair few ITV interviews too.

Also both went on Loose Women in 2006
Michelle in October, Enya in November

Kaye is way better than near-unbearable Ruth, although both Michelle and Enya were stuck between Coleen Nolan and Carol McGiffin. ๐Ÿ˜…
Michelle had an interesting point (though hopefully she wouldn't do that to her wrists otherwise) about being optimistic in the business. ๐Ÿ’ก
Michelle's interview was more fun, the Boney M musical bit added to that too  but Enya did her best, adding the sugar bowl thing with Bono visiting, with the lesser panel she had. โ˜บ๏ธ
I also forgot until revisiting it yesterday, that Enya performed It's In The Rain on the show too. A peaceful way to close a show. ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐ŸŽถ

I think even Loose Women now is more ideal than back then, and could see Enya going back there, perhaps? ๐Ÿ˜Š

Also the Alan Titchmarsh Show in 2009; Enya went in February, Michelle in December ๐Ÿช„

Michelle has a more open way of speaking, whilst Enya seems more tactful but probably thinks similarly about her work, and liking how people knew relatively little about them

Both claim to enjoy a challenge!

So, overall, it's not the music that was similar, but the mindset and drive in their career that Michelle Collins and Enya both have a similar level of. I also enjoy listening to both speak; however basic the topic, they both know how to make it interesting and worth listening to. :disco:โ™ก
:enya:
(Please make a great 'comeback' too, Enya! ๐Ÿช„)

Genuinely thought the Sunburn video was finally back on YouTube there. I'll need the electric pads when it happens.

I wonder if Enya has ever been sunburnt.

TERRIBLE bikini lines

It's why she only ventures outside her castle under moonlight

That, and the risk of finding herself next to a scowling Coleen Nolan again

These two ladies โ€“ I have no idea who they are, if that 2nd one is real, but both provided me with some concept of Enya. :-D
No idea of the names (can't access that site ๐Ÿ˜…) the lady in the thumbnail, seen in a few images, looks kind of like Enya, but taller, stockier.

The one below ( :D I was revisiting this 2013 article, a sighting of Enya and her 'gal pal' (her sister Brรญdรญn) but that image caught my eye, looks kind of AI generated. On the link the photo doesn't appear haha.
Screenshot 2024-07-04 153118.png

They half-targeted that ad (nowhere near the birth years)!
Now I have an idea of what Enya naturally grey might look like, without imagining Judy Murray.

Not favourite but a wannabe for sure :D just rediscovered the clip:

& Enya's the African children singing wannabe? โ˜บ๏ธ

I did revisit her on this thread before
Nelly Furtado is okay
More than okay, she's wonderful!
I like her in interviews too ๐Ÿค—
This recent one, and Michael Palin beside her. I'd probably ask questions out-of-the-blue like that too, out of genuine interest โ˜บ๏ธ

Also this with Paul O'Grady ๐Ÿค

Yesterday I discovered some more songs from her Whoa, Nelly! album, I really like the sound of them. Somewhere I also read that the Portuguese fado singing is similar to the Irish sean nรณs (melancholy, choral). I noticed she does that church-like sound in some songs, and like Enya, Nelly mentions her mother in a church choir and hearing that music very early on โ›ช๏ธ๐ŸŽถ and also performing a song at about 3-4 years old.

I think this was the song with fado singing towards the end, quite beautiful. ๐Ÿ’•

I don't think she was really a 'wannabe' of her sisters but Brรญdรญn Brennan (Enya's youngest sister by 7 years or so) released one solo album in 2005 - she wrote some good songs
The chorus of this was in my head randomly, it's pretty (good).

๐Ÿค—๐ŸŽถ
Kind of reminds me of something Vitamin C would do (her voice at times, when it's not somewhere between Enya and Moya; more pop. Plus writing catchy songs supposedly aimed at teenagers, also passing as a few years younger themselves ๐Ÿช„)

I doubt she's a wannabe as such, but I suppose Billie Eilish (since the previous 2 albums perhaps) is somewhat similar to Enya. :)

Obviously being a more active performer is the main difference :D intriguing hair colour changes, eyes are more spooky, open about struggles from a much younger age etc., but she's most similar in regards to how she approaches writing her music and close collaboration with her brother, and Irish/Scottish family. :ireland: :scotland:

Kind of like how Billie sings and writes music with her older brother Finneas, Enya also sang with her brothers, and even in 2007 or so, her older brother Ciarรกn (dark haired one in Clannad) wanted to record/produce a song in the studio with Enya, but longtime producer Nicky Ryan doesn't like the idea, not sure about Enya's opinion/interest though. ๐Ÿ˜…

Anyway, the two main similar songs that I've listened to enough to comment on are Birds of a Feather, and Even in the Shadows. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I think Birds kind of works as a prequel to Shadows (and the songs mix together decently. I'm thinking of uploading something to YouTube without copyright issues haha).
Especially the lyric of Billie's "if it's forever, it's even better" and Enya's "wonder why it's not forevermore"

Live (of course she has done several audience performances, the Olympic handover, but this was live in a studio; the other girls' voice harmonies work nice with hers)

In the album version, it is quite impressive hearing the belted notes! I admit I didn't really like her more whisper voice songs, but a bit of it can work rather well.

โ˜บ๏ธ

Live (just the one performance Enya did in New York, 2016 โ˜บ๏ธ )

They sync up to 3 mins

๐Ÿค—

I was watching this video about how Billie and Finneas made the song; I found it very interesting:

I do see similarities they have with Enya (the trio) in how they revisit ideas, put random sounds in the mix, and don't mind what the listener interprets once it's released.

Oh also although I'm not a fan of the song/singing, the bassline of Bad Guy reminds me somewhat of the bassline in the verses of Enyaโ€™s Trains and Winter Rains. โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ก

This girl
I think this is Eithne (Enya) in 1970, age 9

Blankly gazing, eyeing, who knows only time, but she appears in this section of a clip, probably a runner-up.

Original source: https://www.rte.ie/archives/2020/0605/1145667-gaeltacht-festival-gweedore/
This is what it's about:
1730315494410.png
In 1970, a shy nine-year-old girl from Gweedore in Ireland is watching as another girl twice her age wins a contest. She's a little miffed it wasn't her but blankly gazes on and applauds. :)

If I've got it right, about a decade later her long locks are trimmed and remain short for the next 40 or so years. Somehow people forget and assume she's looked the same all her life, and more disappointingly, some think she's got no chance of appearing in any publicly available footage other than her music videos, interviews, and Clannad of all bands.

It kind of has the right idea haha

Bairbre Tรณibรญn; Eithne Nรญ Bhraonรกin, 1970 and 2016.png

She did well becoming an author later too, but look what Enya flourished into. ๐Ÿคฉ ๐ŸŽผ

And of course, several of happenings in between, for a few years at a time, but now, the world-famous composing Cailรญn Gaelach (Irish girl) is...

:enya: :disco:

:disco:

I liked Cynthia Erivo years ago after hearing her sing/perform on TV ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŒŸ but not until this did I consider her an Enya wannabe. (Mostly the idea of voice as an instrument, that her new A&R manager seemed to mention, relating back to Enya and what she does for Boadicea)
(On that forum I discovered this Enya GIF :D)
ezgif-com-gif-maker-18-1.gif

The upcoming Wicked live action film seems interesting, not that interested in Ariana (but her mum looks like Enya) but Cynthia starring as Elphaba will be fascinating.
๐Ÿงน๐Ÿช„

I've yet to listen to more of her original songs, but I look forward to hearing the Enya-inspired ones whenever the album is released. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ’

Another 'not really a favourite' but I found a screenshot of this Tweet and just rediscovered it. :D
The 'Elf on the Shelf' (branded version) apparently began in 2005 from a book; Enya was 10 years before

๐Ÿค—

Much rather stare at Enya's face than pseudo-Christmas figure tho :-D
