Currently speeding through snow-covered Finland, sitting in the train and "Run To The Hills" sounds about TEN times better like this (as if that was even POSSIBLE).

Great start and end but sags a bit in the middle for me.
 
This middle section - they couldn't be more blatant in their attempts to SINK Bagge if they tried :zombie: :D
 
Although I think that’s unintentionally quite good for Anders because they’ve surrounded him with some right DUFFERS.

I agree, the two songs on either side are pretty weak.
 
Honestly, I think he's going to stick out even more like a sore thumb being placed next to Tone and (dead behind his innocent serial-killer-eyes) Robin. Robin is not competitive in any way but it's back-to-back male pop and people fawn over Robin even though he's clearly the kinda guy who stares at his reflection non-stop if you had a mirror in the bedroom.

I wish I were as sure as you but John, Tone, Robin and Faith all qualified on the basis of a shrug from the voters, and Tone and Robin on either side of him aren’t exactly the most captivating performers (although at least Tone does seem to be quite beloved albeit to a lesser degree than Anders).

I note that LENA is in Stockholm tomorrow night and then abandoning her tour until 19th, so FINGERS CROSSED for some schlager nonsense :disco:

Well only EN IDIOT (:disco:) in her position pops a show on on finals night but at the very least, closing in the same city as the final a few days before and keeping the entire time around it free has surely been done in case someone wants the country’s second biggest female star on the stage and is a FAIRLY SHREWD MOVE.
 
Which reminds me. I met some Swedes on Saturday night who were bemused that an Englishman was so excited about Lena. They then asked me about a lot of other Swedish singers. Carola and Lena are considered the MF gold standard, unsurprisingly, and the rest are all a step behind.

When conversation (inevitably) turned to Linda Bengtzing, our host described her as “just a bit desperate”, then asked another couple who weren’t listening their opinion and their reply was “oh she can sing, but she’s just too desperate”. At lunch yesterday, I began to report this story to another Swede who wasn’t here and asked her her opinion and she replied “Lena and Carola are just above it all now. Linda just feels like she wants to be involved with MF all the time. It’s just a bit, well, sad and desperate…”.

That feels like an impediment to Klara, no? Are there many winners performing from no.1 in the final?

I'd guess that sets up Cornelia to get the strongest version of her song's televote?

Good for - Cazzi Opeia, Medina and Liamoo which feel like a high energy funfest that also lets Cornelia really stand out.

Bad for - Anna B, Theoz, Lundvik and Tone

I have a feeling Tone is pretty loved though, and if they could nail the camera angles with the new, improved red dress, it could place quite highly.

No idea about Mr Bagge man, as I'm not Swedish. Everything about it screams priest who quietly left the service for reasons unknown.

A few minor changes from the previous performances in today’s rehearsals:

  • Klara’s evil twin is featured a little bit more in the earlier stages of the performance
  • Theoz has changed into an off-white ensemble and has loaded his performance with pyros
  • Liamoo now has dancers for some of the performance
  • Cornelia’s disc has now got an engine in it so it spins a little more enthusiastically when she pushes it
  • Robin no longer lies down on the stage for the key change
 
I heard Hold Me Closer on Swedish radio TWICE today, so it’s basically ALREADY WON
 
I feel like I’ve definitely reached a new age bracket because 15 years ago I would have been screaming and crying at the idea of brave Klara losing to the ballad. Now time has withered away my soul and I understand everything Cornelia sings.
 
I thought Anders was a TV judge - he doesn’t have all that much to say for himself about his supposed area of expertise does he?
