Ireland 2024: Bambie Thug - Doomsday Blue

She overcame the curse of number 2 :disco::disco::manson::manson::peace::o

The chorus is oddly lightweight and kills it somewhat, they need to do something to elevate it. Still, glad (and somewhat shocked) that Ireland took a risk and not a bland option :D

This is my favourite Eurosong selection of ALL TIME and according to someone on screen "the best selection they've had in 50 years!"

Obsessed with this absolute NONSENSE :disco: And you just know she’s going to be EXCELLENT VALUE contestant!

:UngratefulBastards:
I can absolutely see Green Room hysterics, Twitter meltdowns and rapid unfollowing of delegation colleagues if she doesn’t qualify.

I'm eagerly awaiting Thug's post win Tweet :disco: - Will it be about thanking Ireland for choosing her or about bashing the Wiwibloggs International jury for not wanting to send queer to The Eurovision?

Wow, this is incredible. I laughed, I cried, I stanned. Ireland have simultaneously created a talking point and found our new Samantha Mumba

Poor love talking about being non-binary in the VT, only for SONIA to call them she throughout the panel :side-eye:

The staging needs help because it's currently over choreographed and Bambie's dancing like a baddy in a comedy number in a regional pantomime, but I quite like it. If Ireland are going to crash out at the semis it's far better with THIS than Wild Youth's sparkly moose knuckle. And that happening feels like less of a done deal than in recent years?

Sorry I skipped the VT as I couldn’t bear the cringe last night so missed the NON-BINARY REVEAL.

I didn’t realise the lyrics include “avada kedavra”, I wonder what head TERF JK makes of non-binary people :eyes:

It's ALL KINDS OF TERRIBLE but she's obviously deeply fascinating, so bravo Ireland for sending some mental shit.

For me, genuinely appalling is reserved for a song like the second-placer:

Very much the antithesis of the winner - boring, uninspired, calculating. Thank GOD we dodged that bullet!

Yes Ireland! :disco:

It needs a bit a work between now and May, but surely its got a shot at qualifying?

It’s so strange looking forward to seeing an Irish entry.

(I expect its inclusion is intended to annoy JK Rowling, but I would still prefer them to drop the childish Harry Potter bits.)
