My family all wondering when Eurovision became a heavy metal concert and why are all the favourites based on how provocative and gimmicky the staging is

I don’t really have an answer for them to be honest.

I’m curious after watching it why Cyprus and Greece for instance aren’t much bigger favourites over the likes of Ireland and Croatia and Finland.
