Thread 'The Moopy App and Push Notifications'

The Moopy App is now available!

When on a device that supports it, you can now enable an app that acts exactly like the forum running in a web browser, but as its own process with its own icon/

You will also be able to use notifications with it, which should pop up at the bottom of the screen asking for permission. You can customise what sends you notifications in your preferences, by clicking your username on the top right.

I have only given these a quick look, so don't have much more to say at this point, but please use this thread to say if they are a help, hindrance, or just there.

The way OMAZE announce their winners

I just want to win a big house I can sell straight away, I don't want to be paraded and degraded in some hideous Postcode Lottery / X Factor hybrid.

Is it part of the T&C’s that you have to do publicity if you win?

What if the winner lived in a multi-person occupancy flat in a busy rundown area? Where would they do that idyllic presentation ceremony?

There's an "Omaze will also require that winners participate in any reasonable publicity required by Omaze" line.

Although I'd argue that anything other than a QUOTE from me for the PRESS RELEASE is unreasonable, thanks guys
 
The extreme impatience of drivers these days

Doesn't take me long to back into a space. I have a reversing camera and sensors it takes like 10 seconds. But no you ALWAYS get that knob pushing past.

Reverse parallel park last week - narrow bit of road - boy racer forces past missing my side by a few mm and only because I reacted quickly enough to straighten up a bit. Girl racer follows suit.

Backing into supermarket car park bay (too cramped for forwards) - one behind stops right on bumper leaving no room to reverse so I have to go round again. On attempt 2 someone does that same "I'm forcing my way past even if I end up clipping your wing" again.

Is it so hard to wait just 10 seconds?
 
Oh it’s a week from payday and you have NO MONEY? Should we throw a party, should we invite Martin Lewis?

For example, ‘Whisper it, but Nicki French is coming for Sabrina Carpenter’s crown…’
 
CrossCountry trains.

They very much feel like the EasyJet of the train world compared to GWR, but mainly their seeming complete inability to seat two people together when you reserve seats.

I recommend budgeting to avoid scenarios like this. Living paycheck to to paycheck in not wise and often leads to financial anxiety.
 
When it's A-level and BTEC results day and that's the main news story, especially in the morning. Avoided so far but soon will be full of privileged ones showing off their results.
Also when they gather together and open results at school.

Being obliged to call places for Clearing, even as a graduate. 😅

In Year 6 my friend got me to open SATs (and I was upset not getting the level 6 for Maths or Reading, but top in the school for SPaG) GCSE and A-level teacher assessed results, I gladly took home. 😅
I hope my sister and her friends do very well though! She'll be collecting hers
today. ♡
I have to call Clearing this morning, in attempts to get Graduate Entry Medicine for uni... (I'd prefer to start January or September 2025 though
 
I have nothing to comment about people who love going on holiday and do it frequently (at least 2-3 times a year). That’s great and good for you. But when they start MOANING in the office about not having gone away for “ages” as it’s been at least 6 months since their last one… get some perspective.
 
Scratching something off a surface or opening a tablet pack, and it gets caught under your nail and jabs your skin.

The actual worst low key pain available.
 
The word "BOP"

It nearly always forewarns of basic ass drivel that Ella Henderson would dismiss as derivative
