I thought there would be a thread about this as there are a lot of gay references in the show. Anyway, it's absolutely brilliant - it's on Paramount+ now. What a woman - I never realised it before now!!

We’ve chatted about it a bit in the Cyndi Top 10 thread.

I haven’t watched yet as I’m on holiday, but can’t wait to watch when I get home.
 
I didn't realise this was on Paramount+, I'll have to give it a watch.

Mind you, there was an interview with her on Sky Arts I recorded weeks ago and have not got round to yet.

Oh I hope it's better than that, but the dynamic of one of those guys being a former Blue Angel bandmate was interesting (although not explored much at all, weirdly).

I'll see if I have P+ later (I'm hoping it's part of Disney+ otherwise I'll just buy or trial it).
 
It's only just occurring to me watching the pseudo BTS Fun video footage how similar the concept at least was for the Change of Heart video. 48 minutes in and we're only up to the album coming out though...
 
I didn't hear She Bop until 1999 when I finally got 12 Deadly Cyns. How unfair that it wasn't a hit here. I wonder if they'll discuss these patches of hits and misses in the UK.
 
I love the beginning of My Frist Night Without You - how quickly it goes down the plughole though. Very odd to see Heading West in HD even if just a clip.
 
Dare I say it, a remastered Behind The Music (2002) would probably have satisfied me more. I guess it's just not that kind of documentary to get into the cracks. Working Girl could be interesting. I hope they keep the "because I'm me" line.
 
What a performance of Change of Heart that was. I Drove All Night from the same gig was another absolute blinder.

FINALLY watched it last night.

Agree with this totally - the post True Colours years were mostly a blur aside from the Kinky Boots era I felt. I don't feel like enough time was given over to the project. To me it felt that everyone was given an hour or two (including Cyndi) to get everything in the can and then that was a wrap. What I did gag at was the BTS fight between Cyndi and David (W) during the 'Hole in my heart' music video shoot. Loved the early years footage.

Overall, I think I will give it a 7/10.
 
It's a shame her career retrospectives seem to treat everything post-She's So Unusual as an afterthought.

I'm halfway though and it's good, but I needed to tap out for a spell after the Patti LaBelle Time After Time duet. What a fucking racket! :D

Yes, I posted the dates in the Cyndi Top 10 thread yesterday including the NI and Euro dates.

Signed up for the presale. Do presales usually only sell the seats or do they offer up standing too as we’d rather stand?
 
I got round to watching the documentary this week. Some great footage. The hop, skip and jump through the last thirty five years though!

She really does. In her book she came off as quite hard work but not here.
 
Just watched the documentary, love her even more than before.
The She’s So Unusual album was one of my Dad’s favourites when I was a child, the cassette was always on when we’d go on holiday.
Really looking forward to seeing her live

Yeah I felt the same so bought some today. The overpriced floor seems to be selling surprisingly well here so I got some not bad seats that aren’t up at that the ceiling for £65.
 
I hate the way he phrased that ‘We Are The World’ question. Richie said it was a mistake not to invite both Cyndi and Madonna to record the song, not that it was a mistake to choose Cyndi over Madonna.

Are you sure? Even I thought he said that. I had assumed he'd said it as a result of it being clear Cyndi thinks it's a terrible song.

Anyway, that show has never been a good fit for Cyndi. Although I did enjoy her still liking all her outfits.
