I think the comparisons I've seen to that Kim Petras Halloween EP are pretty accurate. The instrumentals on that slapped tbh and were so much fun for 2017.

I can't believe I got caught up in meetings until NOW and still haven't been INOCULATED!

Listening now!

It's...a fun listen, as per usual. It's just not really anything new. I do think it'll grow more on me though.

I will NOT be calling in sick today.

I mean...it's not up there with Bad Romance but it really is a GREAT pop song in my humble opinion.

Top 5 would be good, top 3 would be great.

Skeptical it will have mass appeal outside of the fandom past the first week, but let's see.

it's weird - almost everyone accepted Chromatica as fun, but not her best work, released during a traumatic time for her personally - and there's this expectation that LG7 will be the real thing, the return to form. but Disease feels like she's looking backwards for the first time in her career? like she's not really interested in moving with pop, she's just in her old-glories bag. and I guess that's fine too, but she did industrial pop much, much better than this all across Born This Way.

at the same age Madonna was about to release Ray of Light. she'd spent her 30s trying different things, there was no going backwards. I wonder how much of Gaga's creative firepower is left these days, musically, because I just don't really get what this song is aiming for. it's leaving me cold.

I think for the past decade the missing ingredient has been COCAINE.

Not all artists are concerned with 'moving forward'. Some are content with the same sound, but just perfecting it over time. Not necessarily a bad thing, especially when your fans don't care about innovation.

Babe. It's one single. I don't think we need to get the obituaries out quite yet.

girl it's not an obit. but if we're allowed to say SHE'S BACK!!! off the basis of one single...
we're also able to question where she's at.

yes it's one song but the idea of a lead single is usually to show your best hand.

Also, I get she’s kind of the blueprint, but why does everything have to be compared to Madonna?
well, gaga herself said in an interview not two weeks ago that Madonna is one of the principal influences in her career. and comparisons are valid because both have proven to be excellent, boundary pushing popstars at various times.

I agree this single doesn’t really show much GROWTH, but maybe she’s happy with just re-visiting her signature sound.

I’m not really moaning but I just don’t get why Madonna, who pushed every envelope and broke new boundaries, means that everyone HAS to follow the same path. It doesn’t make any sense really.

It does feel like she’s been more invested in her acting career than being a pop star in recent years.

Aside: I still don’t understand at all why people are so down on Chromatica. It’s her best album!

I've been singing Woman's World over the chorus of this, quite fun

I think anyone who's an artist - and god knows Gags has spent long enough telling the world she's a REAL ARTISTE - should have a desire to keep pushing foward and trying new things. she's 38. there'll be decades for her to be a legacy act who trades on old glories and panders to the fanbase. she doesn't need to be Cher yet.

ACTUAL AGOG FACE

I'd say it makes sense to release something now, post Harlequin and a few months before the album, that sounds exactly like classic Gaga.

Does 'playlist reach' mean the number of subscribers the playlists she's made it on to have, combined?
