We really, really have to hope that that is based entirely on name recognition,

I'm going to assume yes, not because I think those lot would be more popular or anything, but because we know Kamala flopped out first when she ran in the primaries a few years back so it's not like she is a BELOVED FIGURE.

She’s very smart and I think very ambitious, enough so that even she knows a woman in her 30s is not going to win the presidency.

I dunno, I think AOC would have a pretty good shot with an economically populist message like Sanders, when in the next four years nothing gets cheaper like people were promised.

If America goes down the left wing populism route, and tbh I just don’t think it’s in their DNA, it’s only via an incredibly attractive white guy in his early forties!

More likely is the US has twelve years of misery until they finally break and elect their version of Keir Starmer.

She'd need to moderate her stance on some policies to make herself more palatable. Things like the 70% billionaire tax and Universal Basic Income won't make her popular with the party or the population.

Braved US Politics content again, and listened to these back to back and it was very interesting

The Hasan one especially is riveting, and the dynamic between him and Lovett was wonderful and uncomfortable in equal measure.

Also I'll happily support this man, even if I did prefer him FAT

Bizarrely the final House race (in California) was only called late last night. In the end the Democrats picked up two seats from the 2022 midterms, meaning that while Republicans still control the chamber, they have an incredibly narrow margin of 220-215, which will hopefully stymie at least some of Trump's worst ideas.

The final popular vote margin for Trump looks like it's going to land around a 1.5% lead for Trump, equating to around 2.3 million votes more than Harris.

By contrast in the recent UK election, Labour led the Tories by around 10% and had a 2.9 million vote margin of victory.

The electoral college meets tomorrow.

Fingers crossed for the usual handful of wacky faithless electors :disco:
