Ooft! Now *that's* an expanded edition! Who's releasing this? Edsel? Cherry Red?

Because Music, I believe. According to Wikipedia they acquired the catalogue of 'most of' London records 5 years ago.

Oh I missed this post and posted about it in the new release thread. That is how you do a reissue. I think everything is there. Hopefully it does well and ‘Honey Lingers’ follows. London Records have been having a VOTB month so suspected this was in the works though they and the band fell out back in the day. Tracy is on board with this project.

What I like best from them comes later, so I hope it continues. I only just discovered their cover of Gimme Shelter with Jimmy Somerville a few months ago when going through his catalogue - what a revelation that was.

This looks very extensive. I only have the budget best of so will pick this up. I was going to minge about the bonus promo CD being exclusive to the bundles but there isn't anything of any consequence on it so FINE :D

This is also very overdue. All of their closest contemporaries, Transvision Vamp, The Primitives and The Darling Buds have had at least one extensive reissue.

I did like the fact that Woody was the first member of Madness to get back on Top Of The Pops. Especially given that the version of the group that reformed without him (as "The Madness") flopped. Karma etc.

I had the dispatch email yesterday after two (I think?) delays. Completely forgot to look on Spotify for it, though.

I noticed in the latest Classic Pop magazine there’s a (very good) review of an upcoming 2CD reissue of ‘Honey Lingers’. Odd that it’s ahead of any announcement from the label or anyone still connected with the band. Hopefully they’ve jumped the gun and it’s still happening.

That's probably my most desired reissue, so I do hope so. And I'll be here for the t-shirt again.

Plenty of new stuff (to me) on there and definitely worth another buy. My schoolboy budget only allowed me to buy the cassette at the time, additional singles would have been far too extravagant , so any bsides or remixes were completely unknown.

Listed on Apple Music but also largely unavailable apart from I Think I Love You in the original album version, the Don Was Guilty mix and the Orgy mix. The original album tracks are all showing as "2025 Remasters". There are two extra tracks too: Adonis Blue and Sit Down live.

I can't quite get my head around how a version of Gimme Shelter with them and Jimmy Somerville is going to sound :D

Despite that it seems a bit HARSH to stick them in the GAYERS

I can’t imagine it being a rampantly busy thread but maybe we could have it changed to a more general VOTB reissues thread title to encompass both releases @Moderator ?

Done.

I really SHOUDN'T, but I'm quite tempted by the vinyls. Both album covers would really look quite fabulous adorning a homosexual wall. :disco:

I'll go for the CD, even though I'll never play it. But it's cheaper and smaller than the vinyl I'll also never play.

Slightly disappointed they aren't bundling the t-shirts so I don't feel like I'm spending that much on them.

I’ll get the CD for all the bonus tracks as weirdly I’m more likely to play this kind of release physically than stream it.

I love Scary Kisses as well, though the rest of the third album never grabbed me.

There’s a bonus single CD with the vinyl or CD album of Monsters & Angels but not sure what’s on it yet.

Bonus CD Tracklisting:
1. Monsters and Angels
2. Monsters and Angels (Harding/Curnow Mix)
3. Monsters and Angels (Original Demo)
4. Little Gods (Original Version)
5. Say It (Harding/Curnow Mix)
6. Perfect Place (Dave Bascombe Alternative Mix)

Ordered the bundle of both 2CDs and the CD single. £6 postage is a bit high but £32 incl p&p for all that is pretty competitive when you think about it.

I've ordered the CD from their store. I know it will work out cheaper elsewhere but I want the bonus disc.

I do appreciate them filling up the main album disc with bonus tracks, so many reissues now don't do that.

^ I did the same, the bonus CD content kinda cancels out the fiver or whatever it was postage.

I've been playing them a lot this last week following the news of the reissue. Just checked my lastfm and pleasantly surprised to see they are my #20 act of all time.
