Melodifestivalen 2025: Deltävling Five (Jönköping)

I do feel like Scarlet and Arvingarna are the likeliest outcome for DTF, but in truth I can’t call it at all. Arwin and Vilhelm are complete wildcards, and I have absolutely no idea whether Victoria is beloved enough to be in with a shot.
 
I have a theory that that Arwin song was on the table for Måns before he went with Revolution. It’s the kind of huge slightly forced stadium anthem they like to give to established names on the comeback trail and it’s odd that it’s landed in the lap of a complete unknown.
 
I also don’t want that straight guitar shite to go anywhere, and yet it would STILL be preferable to Revolution for me were it to catch on and go all the way.

If we're in early May and a perfectly inoffensive guitar thing I don't show much interest in is quietly cruising towards a non-threatening 6th place I certainly won't be mourning the loss of what could have been with Revolution.

I’m nervous now about Vilhelm - the performance is unlike any other this year with one long continuous take, and to be fair the song is good

Also coming straight after Victoria might benefit it…:D 😭

My prediction currently:

1. Vilhelm - let’s just make peace with it now
2. Scarlet - one of VoR’s favourite acts of all time and so I’m going to support, but this song is not as good as Circus X for me, but is undeniably a good song.

3. Arwin - not sure about 3 and 4 but I believe this little twink can do it and get to the final as a dark horse. In all ways it’s the new MIN KÄRLEK
4. Arvingarna - think people have tired of this; also sounds like Disco Inferno? Would have preferred a Cosmo4 comeback.

5. Saga - good performance of a borderline irritating song will stop it coming last.

6. Victoria - loreen talhaoui your time is up.
the best overall song in this year’s competition + the star quality is undeniable. Unfortunately I suspect that the vast majority of people will assume this is some sort of an interval act because it’s so good and so not enough votes will be registered.
 
I hope that tomorrow, live during her performance, Victoria will pull her phone from her miniskirt and visibly vote for herself (in the 16-29 age group she registered herself in) as a reminder for the viewers that they are supposed to LOVE IT!

I do think Victoria needs to both channel the energy of "you WILL vote for this!" and the energy of "just VOTE FOR ME!" in her performance

But which contestant had sex with Svante in car outside the arena? Vilhelm?
 
Our flat is pretty soundproof but after playing Love It! at max volume for the past 24 hours I was pretty concerned when there was a knock at the door this morning.

Sure enough about four of my neighbours were in front of me looking PISSED.

“I-I’m s-s-sorry, it’s just that I’m gay and she can’t sing and the song is-“, I started to explain

“No no, you’ve got us all wrong” interrupted one of them. “We’re annoyed that you’ve STOPPED playing that song - put it back on!”

Suddenly they surged forwards and I found myself having to crank up Love It! louder than ever. Streams of residents poured in singing and dancing, including my 80-year old nan who was wheeled in shouting “which way to vote for Victoria Silvstedt then?” to cheers of joy from everyone else.
 
This has got to be the most salaciously anyone has ever sung about Sweden's most Christian city.
