I mean... The 1975 are five albums deep into a decade long career with a brilliant touring reputation, I'm not sure I see the point being made.If The 1975 can headline, so can she.
The 1975 are also absolute shit.I mean... The 1975 are five albums deep into a decade long career with a brilliant touring reputation, I'm not sure I see the point being made.
Also, she isn’t white. She’s half-Filipino.I don't doubt that race is a factor with SZA's set bombing, but I do think generally the success of her music is a lot more 'I like that Kill my ex song that keeps popping up on my Spotify playlist', whereas Olivia is clearly a very classical pop star in the sense of having a known name, face and very dedicated fanbase. (Again, probably much easier for her to accomplish those things because she's white!)
Plus she seems like she did well the other year when she brought Lily Allen on.
Apols, have edited my post accordinglyAlso, she isn’t white. She’s half-Filipino.
How old ARE you? Seventy FUCKING five?I also feel like the 1975 are more mainstream and have broader appeal - I feel like everyone my age knows who they are. Most people my age wouldn’t know Olivia Rodrigo.
has Loose Women connections.
There's a festival coming up in April in my hometown and they have Olivia as a headliner too, Charli plays the same day but I guess it's a different (smaller) stage. STRANGE.I am VERY surprised they have Olivia as headliner and not Charli, even though I am not a Charli fan! I think she'll do good though, but as some have said, a tad premature was my first thought.
