United Kingdom 2025: Remember Monday - What The Hell Just Happened?

No Clue But I Ranked It

This feels like they've managed to pull a defeat from the jaws of a respectable result, frankly. Something more in the country vein felt a lot more promising than something which, well, feels like it's trying to be a bit too forced quirky and 'Eurovision' in a way that's ended up producing something memorable, albeit not far off the kind of way Electro Velvet was.

I'm gonna leave the comments for now. I think it has big potential and will wait until I see a live performance

Dare I say some of you might be overthinking this a bit? :D

It’s a jolly song

The last time Kratz referred to something as JOLLY in the Eurovision forum was around the panicked discussions of how Mae performing last probably wasn't going to save her, which is a FUN OMEN :basil:

I'm seeing a lot of very positive and negative reactions and not much in between. As much as I'm on board I can see why it really won't be some people's cup of tea.

I assume we are going to get some live performances(pre parties etc) quite soon, so that should tell us more.

Oh that’s fine. All down to the stage performance, but if that’s good I don’t see why it couldn’t be a mid-table result.

I don't want to be excessively negative out of the gate, but it's just SO frustrating that year after year they make some variation of the same mistake, completely over-fixating on one aspect that they imagine might be 'good for Eurovision' instead of just PICKING. A. GOOD. SONG.

Weirdly, Mae was probably the closest to a good choice post-Sam, in that it was a decent pop song that saw some chart action. They just didn't take into account her limitation/lack of experience as a live performer.

With Olly it was clearly all about the name and the stage concept, but again, it was obvious from day one that he wasn't up to doing it justice live.

I'm increasingly convinced that Spaceman was a very lucky fluke and the whole team needs a complete clearout.

I liked/loved the last three UK entries (in studio version) but this one is not for me.

The big 5 have such an (unfair) advantage compared to the others in the sense that they can pick songs aimed at both jury and televote whereas the others mainly just want to get to Saturday. It’s strange they’re not performance better. Best case scenario for this might be something like Germany last year I guess.

It's very messy and the most negatively I'm feeling about our entry in years (even "Embers" I was enjoying on first play), but it sounds like something that could be sung on Glee during mash-ups week, and as a former Gleek, that I kind of appreciate?

Dear god  And wait for it live, it's going to be a mess and you know it.

The one and only thing I'm not worried about with this is the vocals (assuming that's what you're referring to) - they're fantastic live.

I don't know how good they're live, [mariah]I don't know them[/ mariah], I meant the staging. Just a thought, after previous years 🤷‍♂️

Well that I certainly would not make any attempt to vouch for. :ToneNervous:

I can't believe that's the produced song. It feels like a demo of all the ideas they had, waiting for someone to desperately make some sense of it all.

I am speechless. I genuinely don't know what to say. It's appalling but well performed. I don't think I ever need to play that again, but would the right performance (which I question with the BBC's history of staging) manage a respectable result? I don't know.

Why are they incapable of having a good song with a great vocalist? I can't believe that's not available to them...

It’s also never in a million years going to be a UK hit, which isn’t the be all and end all but is likely to mean pretty limited public interest pre contest.

Considering it’s a pretty underwhelming year so far I can see a way in which it could do relatively well.

It seems quite cynically aimed at becoming a TikTok trend - and could catch on I suppose but very rarely does it happen when people are trying this hard

It's dog shit rolled in pig shit and I HATE IT

There's a small chance the staging could redeem it somewhat, but it feels like another flop to me. And a big step back after the last three years.

Annoyingly, it's an underwhelming year but not really in the kind of way where I feel like this might stand out massively. It's underwhelming, but there's a lot of brash stuff in the lineup.

Still think it's a bit too offputting to do much with the public, but I guess I could see a pretty clear road to 100 or so points from the juries for this.
