Post a rejected entry that you think may have gone on to become a winning song, had it been selected.

Not in great quality, but the original attempt of the Buranovskiye Babushki was genuinely sweet (and their actual style) before they got ruthlessly commodified for 2012

Also almost certainly not, especially from #2 in the draw, but the winner of the UK semi in 2002 (before it was disqualified for being released in Hungary!) certainly would’ve challenged for the ESC 250 for a bit

I also would love to see how a song with an actual bit of ambitious gay drama about it would’ve been staged on that set :D

One of the most sublime pop songs in any national final, ever.

I was driving home from work only yesterday listening to this, thinking how it would have fared against Nemo and Baby Lasagne. Definite potential winner, I think.

It winning 2016 might be a bit of a stretch, but with an upgraded staging it would have made for a stellar entry.
Her best song and performance to date!

I think you could make the argument that Italy always has something capable of winning Eurovision in Sanremo, such is the high quality of the songs, they just never send it!

OK I KNOW THIS WOULD'VE BEEN A BIG UPHILL BATTLE TO OVERCOME CHARLOTTE AND SELMA but I reckon with a more polished performance this could've been a good shot for Top 5, and really would've stood out in the ballad heavy first quarter of 1999 more than Precious did.

I also think Germany definitely slept on this TRIUMPH OF A ROUSING SCHLAGER ANTHEM in 1988 by going with that Siegel snoozefest that was nowhere near the top 10:

This sounds as good today as it did 9 years ago. How would it have fared against Mans? I've always felt that Norway has been one of the worst countries for selecting the wrong entry and ignoring absolute gems.

Not sure this will be a popular opinion here, but I really do think whoever won in the Loreen vs Danny MF 2012 battle would've gone on to win Eurovision.

And who could forget (or forgive) the Swedish public for rejecting this very possible Eurovision winner.
