I have seen a few pretty terrifying videos on TikTok from people talking about their experiences of voting. There were a couple of people saying that Trump supporters had been intimidating voters outside of their respective polling stations, and even one where a woman had been misled by Trump supporters pretending to be election officials... which is surely illegal on so many levels!

The polling place I use close to my house is constantly being patrolled by big tired trucks with Trump flags. While this is a a red state, I live in a blue area so we get a lot of those assholes here.

If I was to bet today, I'd still say a Harris win, and possibly a surprisingly comfortable one. I think it's more likely that polling is off in the opposite direction of the past two presidential elections, than being off again in the same way for the third election running.

My confidence in this statement only grows!

And that's a problem, they're not just saying generally the same thing, they're basically all giving the same %. Which suggests a systematic issue.

Which then leads to the question in which direction are they wrong?

That might be true if the sample sizes were the same, but they’re not. They’re wildly different.

Sample size isn't the only part of a poll.

An unrepresentative sample of 1000 people instead of 200 is still unrepresentative.
