oh now you say it, they do get in to sort of hijinks but that’s not in what I’d think of as a game show. It’s sort of a stand-up, ensemble comedian chat show style, (called a variety show but not in the Palladium sense).

They have later night ones, or prime time ones with boy bands etc. They’re fun though, maybe I’ve just been desensitized to it *eats octopus flavoured crisps*

they don’t seem to get shared much on social media apart from out of context reaction pieces (because why would anything Japanese make sense? :rolleyes:).

did you see that one where a comedian is put in a room and has to work out (without touching) which thing is secretly made of chocolate?

No I haven't... I suppose we've just been led to believe there are lots of them like Takeshi's Castle or the "Endurance" one which Wikipedia says is "not particularly well-known or remembered in Japan"

This just reminded me of “Bob’s Your Uncle” I used to love as a kid. Just for the boat bit.
I just looked it up and good grief! :D I would only have been 5 or 6 when it was on.
 
Very late 90s. I LOVED Michael Barrymore's My Kind Of Music just for the questions. It was kind of like Bullseye though as the pairs of contestants had to have one person to perform a song and one person to answer the trivia. The faffing around with the contestants singing always irritated me.

I loved the final round with the hypothetical musical family thing, but the contestants rarely got the concept so would answer something like Kylie Minogue for someone who should have been old enough to be Madonna's mother.

That car salesman host though, literally nobody laughing at his gags at some points
