Alison Goldfrapp - Solo album

not feeling either of the new tracks. rather flat and very what-year-is-it.
good on her for doing her thing at any rate, just wish i was on board considering she's one of my very favourite singers ever.

Agreed completely. She got my hopes up only to deliver run of the mill EDM. Maybe her band was the secret ingredient after all that.

Still hope we get an album. Maybe itā€™ll be more diverseā€¦

Album is out 12th May.

First ā€œofficial singleā€

That being said I quite like 'So Hard, So Hot'. Very Head First - which is interesting given how much she (apparently) hates it. :eyes:

Has she permanently binned Will?
Just doing a bit of digging, and it appears he did the score for the TV series Chloe last year, and she featured on it, so presumably they remain on good terms.

He also composed the music for an RSC production of King John a couple of years before that, so perhaps his interests lie elsewhere at the moment.

I hope the two collaborations are not part of this project and just a passing hobby. Itā€™s certainly not the direction I want her to go in.

Sheā€™s put the collabs at the end as bonus tracks - Iā€™ll accept that!

Did I know she was working with Richard X? And has she worked with him before?

I feel I should love So Hard So Hot but it is just a bit COLD

Hopefully it will grow and at least some of the Richard X tracks hit the spot.

Sorry but I think everything from this has been SHIT so far :D but order a PERSONALLY SIGNED vinyl anyway from Banquet as she's a legend, even if the album ends up being rubbish?

Also I do love the title 'The Love Intention' :disco:

I like the feel of this much more, but that chorus isn't up to all that much on first listen.

this is like a lost Kylie song that would feature on a cd of forty leaked demos. the chorus does feel a bit demo-y bit it's fun to hear her in such a synthesised, almost plasticky pop soundscape. and the verses are hot.

the spoken word interlude is CAMP!

I'm obsessed with So Hard So Hot still and it's a shame she hasn't taken off (at least by even Goldfrapp standards)

The new one sounds good too. Liking this direction.

Oh I LOVE NeverStop. it's really fantastic.

The other tracks have grown on me greatly too, although gutted to re-read the title and discover its all called The Love Invention rather than my preferred The Love Intention :bruised:
