Carrie Underwood EVIL

Very good country singer - Yes
Attempting to be an interesting pop star - Oh dear

Saved it with the ending though.

Carrie covered George Michael's "Praying For Time" on American Idol: Idol Gives Back last night, it's quite good. It's currently #3 on US iTunes

I LOVE Carrie. She was definitely the highlight of Idol Gives Back. I also quite enjoyed Hatcher's "Before He Cheats" :shy:

The "Last Name" video:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lMJF55jhdcQ&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lMJF55jhdcQ&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

As much as it is blatantly meant to be this albums "Before He Cheats", I can't quite see this catching on in the same way.

Oh yes, Carrie's "Praying For Time" cover was just :o FANTASTIC. Could watch that on repeat forever.

"Last Name" is okay, but yes, it doesn't really move on from "Before He Cheats".

A lazy choice - she's referenced Before He Cheats in her last two videos now - yeah it was a huge hit, but like seriously, get over it. Chanelling Ja'mie there...

Boring video too. And since the main reason BHC was huge (I would think) is that it was a revenge anthem for scorned women, I really don't think this - 'I am a thick bitch and he's a cunt' - will do anywhere near as well.

RELEASE I KNOW YOU WON'T YOU TWAT

Oh this is TOO MUCH

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kZGMsGgLIBM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kZGMsGgLIBM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

As if the lyrics and imagery didn't HAMMER the point home enough, they go and add in shit spoken interludes.

WHERE YOU AT SDF?

OMG this is OVER THE EDGE. I absolutely LOVE it, her limelight stealing moments at the funeral are perhaps only rivalled by Stephanie de la Dean, and has become something I will aspire to achieve at my next ceremony.

It is however a DISGRACE that they edited the last spoken feature over the glory note at the end.

SURELY the song is going to EXPLODE up the country charts now?

Has it been struggling? :o

I'm glad they pulled Last Name... and surely the only way to finish this album campaign off is with a release of I Know You Won't followed by a standing ovation-receiving performance at the Grammys in a LOVELY DRESS??

Nah, it has only been charting for the past 2 weeks. It's probably likely to receive a huge boost because of the video, though. I can't see it not reaching anything but number 1 on the Country charts, all three other singles managed to do so, and country radio usually back anything she does. I do wonder if this will fare better at Pop than the other tracks from the album. It is very country in it’s sentiment, but I really think it could catch on. Her singles from this era haven't really done that well on downloads, which is probably linked to how her campaign has become more focused on country radio rather than crossing over to mainstream. I guess this is a wise thing to do in the long term, as country listeners are pretty loyal (as long as you don't insult the President).

“I Know You Won’t” is just sensational and is BEGGING for a release, a Grammy performance would be LEGENDARY. Have you seen this performance at the Opry?

*WEEPS*

It may not be the Grammy's but have you seen this performance of 'I Know You Won't' from the People's choice awards, dub? I'm SPEECHLESS.

Thanks to the delights of Spotify I have been enjoying investigating Carrie Underwood recently (Partly to see what all the fuss is about and partly because I quite like a bit of country-pop on the sly).

ANYWAY aside from the rather magnificent "Before He Cheats" (UK RELEASE NOW YOU KNOBS) and the wonderful "I Know You Won't" (YOU ARE RIGHT DuB THIS SHOULD BE A SINGLE, it is the greatest power ballad Leona never recorded) I can't say a lot else has tickled my pickle, particularly the singles. They all sound a bit samey to me. Jesus Take The Wheel is nice, but I don't remember it after I listen to it.

Does Carrie have any other gems under her wing, or is it basically just Before He Cheats and I Know You Won't? (If anybody would like to slip those two into the hidden place I will be extremely thank full, I would quite like them on my ipod device)

I'm gutted we never got a decent studio version for Alone. I thought it would have been released in those budget AI compilations or at least as a b-side on the mandatory winner's single :(:(

This will have to do for now

Listen to Wasted and Some Hearts from the first album.

All American Girl from the second album is pretty good. Sweet sort of message. I love the 'honey you oughta knowww' line.

I'm having a Carrie afternoon. "Just A Dream and "I Know You Won't" are lovely ballads, and "Before He Cheats" is FIERCE. In short, she's rather good when she's not singing typical country songs.

Carrie won a grammy last night; Female Country Vocal Performance for 'Last Name'. :o

Only one Grammy? I suppose Taylor has become America's new country darling.

I'm WAY LATE on this but I actually don't really think she pulled it off.

I mean, it must be THE hardest song to do, but at points it's like she's just droning on and on, and sometime not QUITE in tune. SORRY CARRIE STILL LOVE YOU!

I think she is absolutely stunning but seems like a bit of a cold bitch as well.

Does anybody have any idea why random Carrie Underwood tracks keep cropping up in the lower reaches of the itunes chart? I spotted Jesus Take The Wheel a few days ago, and there was a duet on there earlier.

Perhaps Taylor Swift's success is starting a UK country-pop revival, I HOPE SO. Carrie needs to release Before He Cheats and I Know You Won't over here PRONTO.

American Idol.

She was QUITE perfect vocally the other day, although I still don't have any time for her music.

That American Idol performance really was SUPER

Can this thread be renamed "Carrie Underwood" please??

Having revisited Some Hearts recently, I have arrived at the conclusion that it is one of the best and most consistent albums I've ever heard. :o

Saw this @ the weekend on Starz or one of the trashy text-in digital channels..... :sour:

I have no words re: the interpretive dancing, but the fact the 'wronged' woman IS the white trash bleach-blonde from the lyrics is kinda hilarious.

Carrie Underwood regrets risque joke she made to Matthew McConaughey

Carrie Underwood says she is mortified after making a risque joke aimed at Matthew McConaughey at Sunday's ACMAs.

Before presenting Underwood with Entertainer of the Year, McConaughey told the audience how George Strait's boots once got him "lucky."

After collecting her trophy from him, Underwood was at a loss for words and blurted out: "I don't know what to say. I got nothin' ... I want to see those boots, Matthew."

Camila Alves - the mother of McConaughey's 8-month-old son Levi - was sitting in the audience.

Now, Underwood tells Fox News, "I'm so embarrassed, I totally embarrassed myself. I just blanked. You want to say something eloquent in a moment like that and I embarrassed myself."

See what all the stars wore to the ACMAs

"I'm sorry Matthew, I'm sorry to my family," she says. "I'm totally embarrassed."

See how Carrie Underwood's style has changed over the years

Underwood wasn't too razzled: She still managed to mention her boyfriend, Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher, in her acceptance speech.

Check out Carrie Underwood and other country stars in bad outfits

"Mike, baby, I wish you were here!" she said.
