I don't think it's someone more pliant they'll want, it's someone with a basic level of competence. It's clear how difficult the next few years are going to be politically navigating both this and Brexit and it's plain to see that crisis management is just about the thing Johnson is worst at. All except the most blinkered Johnson loon can see he's not up to any kind of job on this scale.
