Can any of our German posters confirm if there are any NAMES in this bunch? I assume LEONORA isn't the same as the hollow-eyed wraith who represented Denmark in 2019.

From Fall to Spring were a support act when I went to see Smash Into Pieces a couple of months ago. I liked them, and they've tried and failed to get into the selection the past two years, so nice to see them in.

Feuerschwanz is the only act I recognise, they are very similar to Lord of the Lost in terms of styling and output.

This starts tonight, but in Germany's grand tradition of utterly bizarre NF formats, they're singing cover songs and their potential ESC entries will only be revealed if they qualify based on their cover version

I cannot get excited by Una Voce Per Deutschland

The actual entries are starting to appear, and this one is getting quite a bit of attention:

Cloudy June is excellent. She deserved a lot more points than she got from the heartless Moopy voters in the recent ASFM.

Good song but doesn't sound like the easiest to do justice to live?

Not wanting to let San Marino take all the constant rule changing and meddling fun, they've just decided that there will be a jury that chooses the top 5 songs in the final to go to the televote - totally different from the 100% televote final that was meant to happen :D I assume they want to push someone in particular. Although I have no idea which song is meant to be Raab's guaranteed ESC winner from this lot, it doesn't seem significantly stronger a line up than their past few NFs!

This one appears to be the runaway fan favourite, and while yes it's catchy enough and actually the kind of music you'd associate with Germany outside the contest, I don't think I've heard a more obviously nailed-on last placer since James Newman. :D

That’s my understanding too - I don’t hate it but also, all that just for more of the same Bottom 5 placements? :D

You can actually see Stefan Raab dying inside at 2.05 as he realises all his bluster about bringing Germany another win and nothing less is going to blow up in his face spectacularly :D

Oh how easily we forget we haven’t heard the United Kingdom yet.

Is this really the sort of music Germany is associated with? How unfortunate.

I am here for a SHOCK WIN by the British band (with German bassist) that is in the finals :eyes:

Intriguingly, Lee Smithurst follows them on IG :eyes:

This one (written by Anderz Wrethov, Julie Aagaard, et al) sounds exactly like something that was shopped around multiple countries before ending up here.

I am watching this now and this is one of TWO English acts so far.

Should we not get our OWN HOUSE IN ORDER before trying to take over Germany's entry?
