Directed by Academy Award nominee Irene Taylor, I AM: CELINE DION gives us a raw and honest behind-the-scenes look at the iconic superstar’s struggle with a life-altering illness. Serving as a love letter to her fans, this inspirational documentary highlights the music that has guided her life while also showcasing the resilience of the human spirit.

I AM: CELINE DION is presented by Amazon MGM Studios in association with Sony Music Entertainment and is a Vermilion Films production
This looks interesting and a must watch!

Okay looks like I'll be getting Amazon Prime. She is unmissable in any setting, but in documentary form she is unparalleled.

I imagine this one will be a bit more of a bummer sadly, but her documentary 'Celine Dion: Through The EYES of the WORLD' is an absolute riot. :D

"When we go to London, my sons and I always go to the same Pizza restaurant. It is the best Pizza in London!"

Or the long drama about her agonising over whether or not to perform while suffering one of her many ailments.

*Celine struts offstage after completing a barnstorming live show*

Nervous P.A. - "That was really good, it went well!"
Celine - "Yes, BUT AT WHAT COST?" :disco:

She was the last concert I went to right before everything shut down and she was fabulous

She seems like she is keeping a lot better. Is the illness she has one that can be treated and kept at bay?

She seems comparatively subdued in the Vogue commentary, but understandably so and is still a joy.

It’s something that kind of comes and goes with different levels of severity. Theres some medications and different therapies that can help keep it controllable.

Am I right in thinking that is her done with her recording career though, or may she still do a few shows/new recordings?

I think she could still do music recording. I don’t know that extensive touring would be good for her but she could maybe do some one off shows but even that would be risky because the spasms can be brought on by something as simple as a slight temperature change, stress, get startled. It’s one of those rare diseases where you constantly live with an unknown.

I've been having a Celine morning. honestly god love her. using I'm Alive in the soundbed for that trailer was quite emotionally affecting.

I did of course think that was her actual answer down the line to emergency services.

This is being shown in selected cinemas tomorrow. I’m off to see it in Glasgow.

There has been two different in depth interviews the past week, one on NBC News and one on CBC News, both covering much of the same thing but I watched both and they’re both really good. Celine comes across amazingly. I am going to be in tears tomorrow, I just know it.

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to watch. I walked out of that cinema a bit numb and not sure how I was feeling. I really don’t want to mention too much about it as I think it needs to be experienced blind. The movie gave us such an insight into Celine as a person and character and how she lives her life coping with this illness.

There’s some really funny parts and there’s a moment which is the probably most difficult and uncomfortable thing I’ve ever seen on screen.

The fact that she let all of this play out on screen is a testament to her character. It’s raw, real, and a rollercoaster of emotions. Watch it. You’ll be glad you did.

We didn’t know it at the time, but she was talking about her voice issues. Which developed into her illness.

I'm not crying I just had to hear Kala kalasplain the entire Celine Dion story at an obscenely loud volume while I was sat about 30 seats away from him.

This was really good, I thought.

Yes, they laid things on a bit thick in places- the no make up, the granny glasses bit, the “oh I do the hoovering” followed a few minutes later by her butler bringing her kid a ridiculous milkshake ( :D ), but she seems genuinely lovely and truly loved by everyone around her. There is little ego there, I thought. The bit where she tried to sing and couldn’t and welling up when she talked about what her fans meant to her seemed so real, heartbreakingly so.

And, obviously, final 10 minutes are amongst the most uncomfortable things I’ve seen in a documentary. It was so brave of her to allow that.

I hope beyond hope something happens that allows her to sing properly again, but it also feels like this was her explanation of why it won’t.

Only about 15 mins in and it's quite :(

Thankfully her clinically obese dog lightened the mood.

I thought her children seem a bit spoiled but I guess their father died at a young age and who knows with Celine :(

Horrified to learn her eldest is a rapper who goes by the name BIG TIP.
