Ireland 2025: EMMY - Laika Party

The moment has probably passed when this would make sense sadly, but I’d still love to see it.

Also, she has a show? WHERE?

The songs will be getting their first plays on the Ray D’Arcy Show on RTE Radio 1 all next week. One a day, two on Wednesday.

Speculation is mounting that Samantha Mumba actually *will* be in the lineup this year.

If her description of an uptempo banger with Riverdance elements turns out to have been a foreshadowing of her entry, I’m here for it!

Apparently this is in the final six, and if you’ve ever asked what Super Rob would have been like if it had been about a dead dog, you’re about to find out:

It's a lady from Norway performing this entry. :D

She also took part in the 2021 Melodi Grand Prix with this:

This Aldi Ava Max number auto-played afterwards.

Bobbi Arlo's song is about to be played here:

They're currently interviewing her so probably two mins or so.

Yes it does feel like something is missing. It's just quite abrasive without much substance to back it up.

Bobbi Arlo - well there’s one palindrome we won’t be hearing from again

You can already hear it on her website:

As with yesterday, it’s something I like the idea of but isn’t executed particularly well. Shame.

So some on social media are saying that there are at least two male acts in the line-up.

Given the two revealed so far (Bobbi Arlo & Reylta), the two guys and that it seems like Emmy is the fifth act, does that mean either LYRA and Samantha Mumba is out of the running? Unless Lyra is singing with one of the male acts but seems a stretch.

The Samantha Mumba/Eurovision tease has been an annual event since at least 2017, usually accompanied by the announcement of a non-existent television programme that she’s “super excited” about.

In reality, it’s just promo for PANTO.

Mumba's just released a new 3 minute song :eyes:

I like it, but it takes a bit too long to arrive at any kind of hook. I'd be nervous of her Eurovision chances.

The fact she had a song coming out is what the entire rumour was binging on in the first place.

That said, having listened to it, it does feel slightly more plausible to me because she said in an interview lately that if she ever did Eurovision she’d want there to be Irish dancing in it, and that song does have plenty fiddle-de-dee bits to accommodate that.

But yes it’s a bit of a mess.
