Monday feels like a lamb to the slaughter

Morning gang

I’m spending the morning organising my kitchen cupboards . My tinned goods are all very SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY in order

I've just CANCELLED our office contract because for the second time they've done fuck all during lockdown. No wonder they are going down the fucking PAN.

Fumming!

Just went online to order the dog's medication (I get written prescriptions from my vet because none of the items are covered by insurance) and, because his ear medicine has to be kept refrigerated I usually have to pay £2.99 for special insulated packaging but the 24-hour delivery is free because I'm spending £137. Because of the lockdown (I assume) they're going to charge £6.99 for a delivery window of 6 days (by which time the frozen gel bags would have defrosted and the medicine's useless) plus the £2.99 that I usually pay.

I’m also FURIOUS. I have been cleaning today and my house is an absolute PIG STY because of messy teenagers. I went in to my sons room and it was honestly DISGUSTING. I am ASHAMED to be sending a cleaner in to clean up his SQUALID PIT. So I am in the bad books as I had a go at him over the mess. SHE is just as bad. I AM LIVING WITH PIGS! :argh:

I would never have even known the extent of this FILTH if it wasn’t for the fact that Vera isn’t coming here because of LOCKDOWN. The woman is a SAINT and clearly needs a hefty pay rise. She doesn’t even complain.

Because I'm bored out my mind.

I haven't felt very well today. Godawful stomach this morning, occasional cough and feeling very washed out.

Missed the start, was listening to a continuous Autechre live set, didn't want to stop. Pain in my arm that has driven me up the wall for the last 4-5 days is now almost gone.

BTW - I;m not claiming the Autechre bootleg cured me. Those sentences aren't connected.

Just finished work. And started at 7am.

What the fuck have I gotten myself into, Moopy?

  1. Avocados have royal roots. The podcast Gastropod reports that avocados were first used as tributes from townsfolk to local royalty in Mesoamerica 7,000 years ago.

https://oke.io/OxYW3i Would an avocado by any other name be as delicious? Well, it turns out, yes. Avocados have been called many things throughout history, including: ahuacatl by the Aztecs, aguacate by the Spanish conquistadors, and “alligator pears” by Sir Hans Sloane. The word “avocado” didn’t appear in the lexicon until the US Department of Agriculture decided that “avocado” was much more appealing than “alligator pear.” [University of California Agriculture & Natural Resources]

Alligator pear is a way better name than avocado. They should have stuck with that
