Work stuff AND life stuff seems to have hotted up after everyone (me included) seemingly treated last week as an easing-in week. I've also committed to doing home workouts again seeing as I'm doing literally no huffy puffy exercise at the moment. Pray 4 me. :(

I started back on the resistance bands only yesterday after nearly 4 weeks off (and with the festive eating, 6lbs gained in weight over the same period), and was horrified at how much weaker I got relatively quickly. I had to drop a 20kg band to complete the same routine.

I did feel much better after doing it, though.

I haven't weighed myself as I'm much more head in the sand, but everything just FEELS a bit more snug and I just sort of FEEL a bit more rounded than before Christmas.

I've definitely put on overall since Little Tisch came along due to a change in dinner routine and it's worse now I'm back at work, but I need to stop making excuses and do what I can do. :kim:

MORNING

I dragged hole to the gym this morning but really struggled to do much. At least I went, but I wimped out after about 45 minutes of weights. I just want to go back to bed now- utterly exhausted.

Isn't this the day that everyone's supposed to TOP themselves or something? Or is that next week?

Anyway, probably don't beat yourself up for not being on TIP TOP FORM. At least you're not DEAD.

It's the third Monday in January, apparently. So next week.

Last year we went to a comedy night in aid of Mind for it. This year I will probably stay at home and cry.

Oh, in which case, buckle up, kids, it’s about to get worse :D

Why don’t they put The Traitors on the worst days of the week? Surely that would be something to perk everyone up.

I think the relatively clear skies we've had here for about a week now are helping me keep relatively buoyant. It does still feel very NOT OUT OF THE WOODS YET, though.

Might pop into town lunchtime to buy a new jumper. The thrill of new knitwear should keep me going for a few days.

I've bought a lovely new cardigan which I'm debuting today, only to find out both my team members who were coming in have decided to work from home so I've no one to show it off to. FUMING.

Putting Traitors on Monday Wednesday Friday would be ideal. It would break up the monotony of capitalism.

It also gives everyone time to digest, bitch and, perhaps most importantly, GAY MEME each episode.

I've long advocated for Mon/Wed/Fri.

No need to worry about the memes though - most of them are up before the episode even finishes airing.

I'm not really feeling the Jan blues but then we have lots going on thats interesting, and Ms Rons new working hours are a novelty. I'm in London Thursday then off skiing Friday, so that means I have 3 days at the desk this week. Easy.

My work is dead, which is not unusual at all, but always makes me slightly nervous and I end up procrastinating when I should be using the time wisely.

I've seen a couple of solo founders and the like talking about that fear in Jan, it's pretty common!

We're always busy in Jan but we get a lull at the end of summer and I start thinking I need to get a job (I don't)

It's not even FEAR really- I'm quite comfortable and the big client has committed to way more in 2025 and, with their upcoming tournament schedule expanding rapidly, it's going to mean LOADS more work, but I just don't sit comfortable not having lots to do, I suppose. I much prefer to be rushed off my feet. I think I probably just strive off the stress!

I was just FaceTiming the other half over the water and when he answered he was IN BED EATING A TAKEAWAY and it kind of gave me the ick. I thought it was just teenagers that done that then remembered breakfast in bed that I have never been all that keen on. Is it a normal thing to have tea in bed?
