Paris 2024 - Day 16 and Closing Ceremony (Sun 11 Aug)

So we aren’t looking at any more golds? The villainy of these athletes.
There’s almost no more events. This omnium is the last thing we’re even competing in and it isn’t going well.

The US must beat France in the women’s basketball final to top the medal table.

🇫🇷

I’m disappointed in the Chinese Communist Party. They had a perfectly good cyclist in that race that they could have fully sent into Valente’s back wheel.

Now that they are rid of the equestrian aspect, I reckon Modern Pentathlon is going to become a much more compelling contest (particularly with the introduction of the Ninja Warrior round :disco: )

Good news - we still beat the queers:

Any chance that the Dutch lose some gold medalists to Team LGBT moving us back above them, or do they all just like to have sex with children?

That they're not queens, they're pedos. The options presented in the post directly above mine.
What? No. The Dutch had a member of their team who is a convicted child rapist, of an opposite sex child, if that’s remotely relevant. In light of that, I was implying that the members of their team who weren’t LGBT were pedos, ignoring the much more likely scenario that they like to have sex with adults of the opposite sex, which is the opposite of what you appear to have taken offence to.

Is this women's basketball game the last medal of the games? I want France to take it.

Can someone explain to me why the medal table is organised by just golds rather than by a points based system that recognises the worth of silvers and bronze too?

It's STUPID to entirely disregard silvers and bronzes except as tie breakers.

Quite enjoyed the basketball and a France win would have been a lovely end to what has been a fantastic Olympics.

Because golds are the best ones, love

Ugh why have the BBC wheeled out First Dates Fred as a pundit for the ceremony intro? I thought we were rid of that particular demon, his daughter diving aside

Lol at the BBC interviewer's "You're very passionate and open about being from LEWISHAM" to Alex Yee

He's incredibly annoying.

Love Matthew Pinsent's jolly gay uncle vibes thesedays

The BBC’s montage does highlight how medals for GB just come so frequently now

“Oh right, forgot they won a medal in <obscure sport> despite being fully committed to that sport for a whole 60 minutes”

His little boxing rant felt a bit gay NOT QUEER uncle :eyes:
Yes I spoke too soon there. He'd have a few GENUINE CONCERNS that would see him following LGB Alliance on Facebook
