Random deep/disco/funky/piano house tunes

I mean I can HUM a bit of it in my head but all I remember is her singing "find my real salvation" or something rhyming it with something else with almost GRUNTING vocals. VERY STRONG! There were proper verses. For all I know it could have been a remix. It had a house beat!:tongueout: Maybe more electro or progressive. I thought it was on one of those Promo Only Club CDs from 2011 (January-February) but it doesn't seem to be on there.

Hi, I have only registered on this forum today so excuse my intrusion but could this be Paradigm by CamelPhat and A*M*E? Regardless, it's an amazing song. Brings back memories of being pilled up in Pacha in 2015.

Oh absolutely loads ... he’s always popping up in my Spotify radar. Roger Sanchez too. Nothing specific jumps out but might be worth having a peruse on Spotify.
Todd Terry had a fantastic 2020, it felt like he dropped something new every week. One of the highlights for me was his collaborations with the lovely House Gospel Choir, namely this one:

There’s a ton of great complications out at the moment -

Defected Most Rated 2021
Toolroom House Party (vol4 is the latest)
Let There Be House (haven’t listened to this yet but looks great)

Even the MoS Annual looks great and that’s normally the beige EDM

shows how good the dance music has been this year
Thanks for posting these, I've added the Defected and Let There Be House playlists to my favourites on Spotify - I notice John Summit's Deep End is top of the list on Defected, that reminds me I've been enjoying his version of People Hold On.

I have a few recent faves I’ve been meaning to post

sounds like Sylvester doing piano house

Takes me back to early noughties soulful house

Takes me back to late 90s funky house

Apologies for the spam but I just wanted to add that Horse Meat Disco, Shapeshifters and The Vision were also highlights of 2020 in terms of the disco/funk-influenced stuff. I'm glad this stuff is coming back to the forefront a bit more as EDM slopes off a little.

Thank you sweetie but that’s not it. Mine is from 2011 and the vocals were stronger (almost too strong). The one lyric I remember is something like “tell me how I could find my/a real salvation”.

Haven’t slept in 10 years.

OK you need to stay.

The Vision have been mentioned a fair bit on here - the album was great and our @Jark is a big fan.

2020 was a fabulous year for disco house, nu disco, nu funk and nu skool. I hope 2021 brings more of the same

It was worth a shot, hope you find it.

Anybody who employs Andreya Triana on a regular basis is in my good books!

might be a bit obvious but it’s not Blind Faith by Chase & Status is it?

I’m literally going through my old playlists from 2011...

This is an old favorite of mine. I feel evil but also very sexual while listening to it. It's so filthy ugh.

I'm a long-time fan of I&B, they've had their odd misstep along the way but generally you can count on them for a decent hands-in-the-air moment. This new one is fun in the absence of going out.

Jem Cooke has voiced some bangers in her time.

Also agreed she has vocalled some amazing dance stuff the last few years! <3 Breathe & Rabbit Hole! It's so lovely to see her having some hits years after starting out in the business.

Completely off topic, but i couldn't resist seeing her being discussed .. in the mid 2000's I came across a sampler of Jem's debut album "My Favourite Vice", one of her tracks where she sounded kind of like some of Girls Aloud (if it was a very bad demo / B-side) so i uploaded it to a popular mp3 sharing site as a leaked Girls Aloud song knowing it would only be a matter of time before someone on Popjustice would acquire it, it was brilliant to see them squabble over whether it was them or not!

I eventually let the cat out of the bag with a guy I knew who posted on popjustice and he eventually spoiled it, but it was brilliant trolling them for a while. :D
