RANDOM THINGS YOU HATE (1 Viewer)

I've used them as an alternative to digestives in Rocky Road.

Wish I'd bought digestives.

I think I put hob nobs instead of chocolate digestives in my trolley once. I think I actually CRIED when I was unpacking at home.

Not that I buy biscuits any more either way mind. I can’t be trusted to eat just one or even just ten.

PEOPLE USING UNINTUITIVE CHARTS TO SUPPORT THEIR NARRATIVE.

Yes, the following chart shows the ruble falling in value. But if you instead charted how many dollars the ruble can buy, you'd actually have a chart showing a downward trend, which suits the message "the ruble is in freefall" FAR BETTER

People who reply to emails saying 'it's nice to e-meet you'

NO.
Thankfully I’ve not yet received one of those.

I did just get one submitted to multiple teams as someone was doing an audit of company registered devices issued to people. It began with “Good afternoon team! Hope your [sic] having an amazing time :)

It’s an audit request, not a Christmas Party email.

@ButterTart proven entirely correct :basil:

A colleague of mine got reported today for discrimination. He was hosting a workshop to give some newer staff better knowledge and understanding of working practices. He was reported for making someone feel nervous when he asked them an open ended question in the same way a teacher would do.

HAS THE WORLD GONE MAD?

Very friendly colleague, just gave a common scenario of a report received regarding a serious driving offence and what would be the appropriate actions to take as part of a short training session… “what would you do if you got this kind of email?” was the question.

THAT WAS REPORTED TO THE HEAD OF DEPARTMENT.

It's irritating true enough, and perhaps stressful for your colleague, but presumably it'll be investigated and dismissed with no case to answer. I'd rather have a system that allows people to challenge incorrectly than one which doesn't.

Some neurodiverse people really struggle with open questions as well, which I imagine will be what the actual issue at the heart of this is. Which, if the case , they'll just need some reasonable adjustments in the workplace to accommodate them.

Well of the 3 people I know in the department who are quite obviously neurodiverse and have disclosed this to managers regardless of it being obvious, they are not a problem and are usually the most vocal in training sessions.

Oh well that's good. It can't possibly be a problem for anyone else then!

There’s never any reason. There are just now a sizable group of 20-somethings that think “being made to feel uncomfortable” is some kind of targeted attack. Did they not go to school?

I spend 75% of my working life on TARGETED ATTACKS.
