Lotus had some good songs but it's also such a record company album. You can tell they sat her down and said "DO SOMETHING MORE STRAIGHT-FORWARD" and she kinda hated every second of promoting it cause it wasn't her ✨️vision✨️.

From the choice of producers (Max Martin! Cee Lo Green! Sia!), to the duets, to the genre she covers (country, artistic heartfelt ballids, electro tits out dancefloor bangers to femme angry power anthems) reminds me of the time VoR described Melanie C's On the Horizon being focus-grouped to an inch, they were hoping for something to stick but unfortunately they took it out of the oven way soon and albums that don't curdle never work :(

There's also the annoying fact that it sounds like it was recorded through an empty soup can and mastered with a Nintendo 64.

It was contrived but it was a very consistent album. It was what she needed Your Body, Let there be Love, Blank Page, Army of Me etc we all great songs. I was surprised at RCA giving her a follow up album after this. I don't see how anything can be massive for her again. She released this on the back of Move's Like Jagger, The Voice. I think Say Something came after.
 
Say Something was her last legitimate hit if you wanna call it that. Everything that came after that didn't even chart.
 
Yeah but even that was a feature (or duet or whatever). Her last solo actual hit must be like bloody Candyman or something if you discount one week digital era wonders.
 
Skimmed page 3, but Lotus has immense peaks. The title track sprouts to new heights, Your Body was airtight calamity unknown to anyone not stripping solo in front of the troops, and Blank Page made Adele shit the bed. Let there be love... I should re-listen, she was definitely hungry for a hit.
 
Some journalist: "so what happened?" might have been a good start.

I only found out about this a couple of weeks ago, but the story is WILD. From being openly mocked on camera in the Osbourne's dining room, to buying their house and using Kelly's bedroom from storage. Who truly won there?

And Channel 4 really need to sort their archives out and let us all watch the Jo Whiley Show wherein the first Mary J hand kiss story was told (let's not forget that Madamme J offers 2 more iconic moments: saying H explaining his songwriting process was "some bullshit up in here" and the reaction at a Gabrielle acapella VT).
 
Well, ok, but that's not really the most thorough since it leaves out something Kelly has only referred to explicity once to my knowledge (in her In Bed With Joan episode, on youtube) that seems to be what it was all about. I don't even think Xtina has that house anymore.

Are there ANY reports of Beyoncé being unpleasant? There are DOZENS about Christina.

And yes, being a RUDE CUNT is worse than being NONCHALANT :D
