The UK: The Keir Starmer years

Lovely bit of RED ON (THEORETICALLY) RED from Queen Diane :disco:

To be honest, i don't have much sympathy for the Waspi campaign either. I remember being in school and knowing about state pension age rising. Did they want their very own staff member from the DWP to come round and have a chat to them about it? Retirement planning is a personal responsibility.

I have some sympathy with that viewpoint (though of course I think the pension should be ABOLISHED ENTIRELY in favour of UBI for all ages), however if you make supporting WASPI women a central part of your political campaigning in opposition, then backstab them in government, then that's exactly the terrible politics that Diane Abbot is describing

I've really struggled to understand how women didn't know about the changes as well, but then I worked for the DSS calculating state pensions at the time.

I remember my mum (who sneaked in just before they upped it from 60) and her friends, some of whom were in that phased period, talking about it lots when she was in her 40 and 50s.

I do have a lot of sympathy with women of that age (even more so above it) in general around pensions, but not massively around the age change aspect.

I for one am quite enjoying Labour’s current Fuck The Old & Fuck The Landed Gentry strategy.

So very red Tory :disco:

I mean, making social security less generous and ignoring a parliamentary ombudsman to save a bit of cash IS quite Red Tory, you're absolutely correct.

(Fuck the farmers though)

Yeah I get that. Labour on all fronts have made a rod for their own back, promising everything to get into power. But hell, it worked, and we don't know if the alternative would have.

Promising everything and changing your mind later does seem to be the way of modern politics worldwide.

I wonder how Starmer's first 6 months will be seen in 4 years time? I'm asking now because, in 4 years time, Musk's money will have hit Reform, the UK press will be owned by the oddly familiar Pladamir Vutin (after a previous bid from Mr V Nitup was rejected) and I won't be able to type this because I'll be in a gulag waiting for my adrenochrome to be harvested.

I'd like to see her payslips.
Let's send her to check:

Why's that copper got his XL bullussy out?

I wouldn't want to sit next to that badger on a train. And I wouldn't trust it to get anything done either.

I mean, of course, the hideous bastards have embraced AI rather than pay an animator. They missed out the giant seagull shitting all over the entire country tho'.

I’m agog at that video. It’s problematic on so many levels. Who thought that was a good idea?

We used to take the piss out of the Tories for this out of touch nonsense

This mess is straight out of The Thick Of It.

The thing that pisses me off the most is the graphic designer or animator that was bumped a potential pay day in order to create this pile of shite. And knowing that it would have to have been approved up about three rungs of the ladder at least before it was posted. So several people, at some point, said “yes that’s a great idea, looks great, go ahead and publish it”

Un fucking believable

Not been an MP since 2005 but still involved in the Party till he was suspended last summer due to undisclosed reasons. I had a look out of curiosity at his Twitter, which is NSFW btw! Either he doesn't understand how it works, and is just BRAZEN and doesn't mind retweeting political news and twink porn in the same breath. It's followed by some big political figures (Kuenssberg for example) who presumably would be getting it all up in their feeds :D
