Carly Rae Jepsen - The Loveliest Time

Firstly this was the venue, with a stunning background

Ah :disco: The Gorge is so stunning, i really need to see something there, I was considering tickets to see this (just for her as boygenius isn’t for me) alas I never got round to it. And still annoyed she’s skipped a main date in the city on her tour too.

Do you live in Seattle? I was just staying with a friend in Capital Hill. And you really do need to go to the Gorge. It is even more stunning in person

Ah nice, did you’s camp there or drive back after the gig? Yeah I live just out of the hill in the Central District (still close enough that I can walk to most of the bars and restaurants).

Hope you enjoyed it; Seattle summer is definitely a great time to visit as it’s pretty mild compared to the rest of the country.

We camped there. I think driving back would have been too much of a hassle.

And I had a great time. The weather was so refreshing after the heat/humidity of the south. And I went to the locks, saw some different neighborhoods, and went to a couple good restaurants. I couldn’t believe the prices though… $5.29 for gas! I’d want to move there if it wasn’t for the prices and I don’t think I could deal with so much rain the rest of the year

the chokehold both So Right and Come Over have on me is unreal.
The synth line in "Come Over" is chef's kiss

Loving this album. I liked The Loneliest Time too, but this has such great replay value all the way through.

Well I really struggled with this at first - the first 4 songs didn't speak to me at all and I was getting a bit worried, but after skipping Shy Boy (heard it a lot recently, still love it) from Kollage onwards it really did get better. Tracks 5 to 11 are all killer no filler.

the album is banger after banger after gorgeous bop after banger. I revisited Emotion, Dedicated, Loneliest last week and it's clear that Loveliest is her best work to date. she sounds very energised. Psych Switch is so Fever-era Kylie coded.

current HOT PICKS - Shadow, So Right, Kamikaze, Shy Boy, Psychedelic Sausage, Stadium Love :disco:

FUMMIN that Kollage wasn’t earmarked to launch the sizzlin’ solo career of Kolly from CuteBad.

Kollage is her favourite isn't it?

It probably isn't the best spot for a performance of this song but she's on very good form vocally.

Second listen and I've decided this isn't a great album. Maybe it's just not my groove to be honest. Not hitting the way the last album did.

"So Right", however, is amazing, and I'm keeping that.

i'm struggling with this one, probably the one of hers since emotion i've listened to the least.

shame shy boy didn't do much, it was a big grower for me.

ps did we ever figure out what this was (sorry if it's obvious):

Us in agreement shock

Yeah the new album leaves me cold and I LOVED the last album.

I do however love Shy Boy and So Right, h they’re FAB
