Liam Payne DEAD

One Direction weren't one of those bands that were put together and then dumped after a couple of albums though. They had a lot more effort put into their success than it seemed like their talent deserved at the time. They then matured into better artists, and I would argue that they were better solo than they were together.
I suppose they had the experience of non stop and exhaustive work schedules and touring though, with Liam still having to cope with the (relative) fall from grace at the end of it all, especially by comparison to Harry Styles.

And I know people made fun of his claims that he was supposed to be the front man, but it was positioned that way on television. He was the one who was featured on TV as the star, before it kind of flipped. Yes, he was still in an enormously popular boy band, but no doubt there was a sting there, whereas the other three were never positioned as front men.

I mean once drugs get in the picture, there’s always a chance it’s not going to end well regardless if you are Bobby from the country or the biggest star on earth.

I had the EXACT same conversation with my sister earlier. Her son committed suicide a few years back and was heavily involved in drugs. A downward spiral due to people he was involved with, and he left behind two young sons. No fame involved. It is always very easy to point the finger unfortunately and try and find someone to blame.

Can anyone summarise whether anything happens in all that light-grey Word 95 default quirky font text
I read the first two pages, got irritated by the fake names and then remembered I've got a proper book to read so gave up.

5F is the band, the groupies are called Forwarders and the lead singer is called Cary :square:

I'm really happy that this fella's death has given the world something to do on social media today!

It feels weirdly unhinged in a way I would never have predicted.

If I had to choose one thing, the entire world being an investigative journalist over EVERY SINGLE THING is the bit about social media I could really do without.

I am really confused. Is HalamaK taking pictures of a fictional book by Liam Paynes ex girlfriend?

I heard he was SCANNING them LIVE from the LIBRARY'S PRE-RELEASED COPY. And STEALING JEWELLERY!

On the other hand it kind of explains why things went the way they did for him yesterday. I got closure.
Not really how this sort of thing usually works, to be honest. It definitely feels like quite a few things were going on for him lately for one

I haven't, but a fan read the entire book and posted some excerpts.

It's only natural that when something unexpected happens to someone you know, even superficially. You want to look through available information to understand what happened. It helps provide closure and lets you move on.

We need only look at Simon Cowell’s recent interview with Steven Bartlett, where he admits his greatest regret was not owning the band’s name. The real regret should be the failure to prioritize the emotional and physical welfare of the artists who put their trust in these institutions. Contracts, whether they are for television shows or record deals, come with a legal and moral duty of care that must be upheld.

Simon Cowell is a businessman, not a babysitter. And the last sentence is total hogwash.

I really don't think it's too much to ask for record labels to have a moral duty of care in contracts with any artists they have signed, given every single company in the UK does under employment / health and safety egislation.

Also the labels are frankly raking it in these days. A reserved wing at the Betty Ford clinic, and a trained therapist or five on-hand at all times on retainer from the Betty VoRd clini, shouldn't be too much ask.

yeah, labels providing young artists with therapy is really the very least they could be doing, especially when they've picked them from obscurity and dropped them into (sometimes global) fame as Syco did. excuse me if I ignore the input of @Nowoco, they've never had a single interesting thing to say beyond the usual tired provocation.
