Shall we? :disco:

Artists announced 6th February. One said to be a previous winner. STREETS are saying it's 2017 winner Anja Nilsson, but personally I'm hoping for Ben & Tan (unlikely as I'm not even sure they still perform and/or are together anymore) or Fyr og Flamme (more likely, and yes please!).

Say Yes was a great entry but poo what an awful Eurovision country Denmark has turned out to be.

They've really had a shocking recent run of late, mitigated slightly by the lost 2020 entry and the fact that Fyr og flamme were utterly robbed in 2021 by those fun-sucking juries.

I don't think their recent entries have necessarily been terrible either, just very tired and uninspired.

Besides the rumour of a returning former ESC entry of theirs, apparently a former act from the National Final who did well but didn't win is likely in the line-up too.

Given this is Denmark, they've probably dug up someone who competed last century. :D But I can dream and hope for the comeback of this BEACON OF EMOTIONS :disco:

It's looking like Tim Schou from the band A Friend in London (2011) is the returning former ESC act.

It is indeed him

Adel the Second "The Unluckiest Boy Alive"
Andreas Kruse "Hear My Prayer"
Hervé Toure "Allez allez"
Maria Mathea "Air"
Mariya Apollonia "I Belong To Me"
Max Ulver "Supernova"
Sissal "Hallucination"
Tim Schou "Proud"

Same format as before, top 3 of jury combined with televote, open a week before the contest go through to a super-final, votes reset, and 50/50 jury and televote decide the winner

Oh the EXCITEMENT in the air :disco:

Wikipedia seems to have the running order as well actually

1 - Mariya - "I Belong to Me"
2 - Tim Schou - "Proud"
3 - Max Ulver - "Supernova"
4 - Hervé Toure - "Allez allez"
5 - Maria Mathea - "Air"
6 - Adel the Second - "The Unluckiest Boy Alive"
7 - Sissal - "Hallucination"
8 - Andreas Kruse - "Hear My Prayer"

I was hoping that Sissal might by the Norwegian opera lady (who spells her name differently), but alas.

Having listened to these, there are three viable entries:

Hallucination - Total Loreen-lite, would finish 17th at best but go down well in Euroclub.
Proud - Absolute MOR pissdribble, but probably closes to Denmark's Eurovision 'brand', and I could see it getting left hand in the finals with the help of the juries if he got out of the semi with it.
The Unluckiest Boy Alive - Feels like the one with the most potential to do really well, if he can sell it live. A risk, but maybe Denmark need that at this point? Safe really isn't working out for them.

The rest are all absolute filler.

I would think three out of "Supernova", "The Unluckiest Boy Alive", "Hallucination" or "Hear My Prayer" based on the studio versions and the running order would be most likely to be in the Super-Final, no idea who would win that vote though.

The lack of interest is PALPABLE, but the shittest Nordic nation are choosing their entry tonight.

Hallucination is predictably right up my street. But then so was SAAAAND!

DMGP used to be genuinely really good for a while from about 2009 to 2013, but it's gone off an absolute cliff since and it's a collection of rejected demos by session singers that the BBC would be proud of :( so weird when the other Nordic nations (well, maybe not Iceland :eyes:) have kept the level so high

Did they get a new HoD around the start of the decade? It feels a bit like someone flew the coop after Ove os pa hinanden.

What I'd give to have even *one* song like this in this line up!

*they vote the blandest song in the lineup over it anyway*

I know it all worked out (well, in a 19th place in the final kinda way) for LA REINE HERA, but my God Someday is such an OPUS.

The super final is Tim Schou, Adel the Second and Sissel if anyone cares

Adel has the most original song but I hate his diction so much. It's Sissel for me.

Isn’t she the one who confidently told in pre-DMGP interviews “If I go to Eurovision, I will definitely qualify” :D

She didn't win the televote in the second round of voting either, the jury pushed her through, just one point ahead of the runner-up. :D

This bodes well for her! :eyes:
