Anyway this slaps. Dolly found shaking.

When this started, I was very "fuck, no". By the end I was bang into it. It's basically a song about giving amazing head and why not?

Jolly good fun. Old Moan really is the pop star this generation needed.

sounds like the shameless Shania cosplay we need and deserve from a big pop girl of today :disco:

I wonder why the video has been set to private now?

Maybe she was just excited and thought it would be fun to play her brand new song. Maybe she wanted to see if anyone would like it and the response was mixed. Maybe the violinist came to her through the Make A Wish Foundation so she had to write a song with violin part and do it on the telly.

Stop being such a Chappell MOAN, it's a cracking wee tune. Whether or not it's single material...well, I think NO but given that we're in an era where 80% of an album will be a 'single' of some description, it's almost academic.

I gave it a 7! I admit it is good for what it is, just sadly what it is is Country :(

She needs to release an absolute belter at this stage to cement all the interest.
Whatever she does, the usual suspects will declare it shit and a flop regardless so she might as well go where the muse takes her.

I doubt people (other than the most desperately try-hard, who are easy to ignore anyway) would call it shit and a flop - and be taken all that seriously, at least - if she knocked out another tune as stellar as Good Luck, Babe! was. I think something like that would basically be in contention to be one of the biggest #1s of the year frankly.

I think the interest is cemented. she's scored several hits now including one after all the backlash last autumn when everyone hated her briefly. this can be a cute kuntry moment or a global smasha, she's good either way.

I genuinely loved it on SNL and it sounds as if it's not different from that perf. Is this coming on Friday then?

A 7" edition has already been and gone from her US website. No 'release date' shown tho' but it can't be long.

I had an email about this and the link said the 7 inch would be shipped in August!! But now the link appears to go to a different place with no date mentioned 🤔

I'm wondering if this means new album in August? vinyl pressing queues are not very long anymore so I can't think why else they'd delay it so long, other than to give the song a boost / big Hot 100 push in album release week.

Could be. Seems a long way off otherwise for a song that seems to be about to drop any day now.

Yeah, it's actually CDs that have subject to delays recenly after a pressing plant in Poland suffered a major electrical fault and was out of action for 3-4 weeks.

Nowt so far...unless it's coming out after the digital deadlines to maximise week 1 impact.

I assume it will be out soon, probably US daytime... who knows?! I saw something online earlier saying out 13th but can't remember what. Maybe she has pulled it after hearing the Sugababes single 😂

I'd guess she's got a very supportive record company on side who are letting her release things the way she wants to. Not the best strategy commercially, but given her very vocal stance on how she wants to run her career, entirely in character. Good Luck Babe would have had a video and a position on an album rerelease cash-in last Christmas in any usual circumstance!
