The 97th Academy Awards

Wait... she's married to NEIL YOUNG thesedays?!

I really appreciate how the Oscars producers acknowledged that all the original song nominees were a BIT SHIT this year, and have saved us from having to see them performed in the ceremony

Deserved for Doc Short there. I could have watched a feature length film on her as she was so charming and interesting. The more “serious” ones in the category were on subjects that had been done before and to better effect, although Death By Numbers was well done.

FFS, I should have bet on I Am Not A Robot. It was by far the best of the live action shorts (it’s just a short Black Mirror episode), but had the longest betting odds for some reason.

I didn't watch it last year, so it may have been the same then, but it's interesting that ITV haven't had a single ad break since the ceremony started.

Tbh I'd prefer a few adverts over Frostrup

HOORAY. I'm Still Here is fucking amazing and I keep meaning to make a thread about it.

Get that CUNT Oprah OFF the screen. Also Quincy Jones never won a single Oscar and they left him out of In Memoriam. He was rightly honoured at the Grammys.

Ease on Down The Road isn’t even the best song from The Wiz, let alone good enough to represent Quincey Jones’ contribution to movie music.

His wife looks like Dannii Minogue.

Anyway, maybe another Predators sequel, and some more tedious turns in tedious Wes Anderson films for him next.

I'm so happy for Sean Baker. I really thought this would go to boring ol' Brady Corbet
