No-one stays at the head of the zeitgeist forever and the fact that she hasn't ploughed the album for singles suggests that she is fully aware that a backlash was swinging away - not that it stopped her from releasing the album with 20 different 6-hours only bonus tracks but, well, you know. She focussed on the tour and made an enormous success of it.
She reached a peak that only a tiny number of artists experience. Coming down from it will likely be a relief of sorts.
It is stellar!we all agree that Guilty as Sin? is the best song on this right?
It’s in my top three with So Long London and Chloe…we all agree that Guilty as Sin? is the best song on this right?
This is where I am with it, too, at the moment.despite thinking this is a good album I can't face going back to it at all.
Finally we agree on something!I thought this album was such a disappointment. Just three hundred hours of nothing. I don’t remember a single song from it.
This from the woman who gave us Folklore just a few years prior.
I still play So Long London, Guilty as Sin, Chloe, and So High School more than anything on MidnightsWHAT HIGHS?
