True, but given she's failed to re-enter the Spotify Daily chart at all since her first day of release, it doesn't bode well for the song to have legs.
 
I wonder if having two versions might be hurting her? I've been listening primarily to the explicit mix, but Spotify on random threw the radio friendly version at me today. Do they combine the streams for calculating the daily top 200 ranking?
 
Nah they are separate, but obviously for chart purposes combined. It’s held up better than It Girl and between the two versions it’s doing okay, but ultimately without being added to some bigger playlists it’s simply not going to do well there short of going viral. But if it can hold top 50 on Apple and keep doing decent YouTube numbers it should hopefully get a few more weeks top 100.
 
It's interesting that she's doing so much better on Apple than Spotify or Amazon Music. Considering she dropped Frozen solely with them, is there some sort of deal with them to foist it on everyone, like Christmas songs?
 
Apple in the UK tend to be more pop leaning, and also segments to their market (ie. Concentrate on British acts in the UK, Aussie acts in Australia etc). Spotify is far more American from a playlist point of view, so it’s harder to do well there without actually properly taking off.
 
And all the Huns have dropped Spotify and moved over to Apple
 
I think a #25 after the singles after the debut really failed to hit the mark is not bad.
 
How often does the Hot Hits UK playlist update? You'd think she'd have a reasonable chance of getting on that one, but so far nada.
 
I think its quite amusing by the time she drops the album there will be SIX drops of it already.

I feel like she's the type to drop an 18 tracker though
 
I'm sure I read not all of the tracks released so far will be on the final album

Considering it's a followup single that's come after a LOT of faffing about, I think it's still worth noting. She has something that the other girls don't, at this point.
 
I mean I do think she'll be fine. She's got enough of a fanbase that she can probably tour with this record at a reasonable level. But it's just a shame that it's all fallen a bit flat, chart wise. And I do think she's really a victim of the way Spotify is pushing out 'local stars' in its algorithms.
 
Well yeah, Spotify only supported the first so it’s very much an uphill battle. Agreed though, it hasn’t connected as much with the public outside of that as they’d have wanted. But she has enough of a base to continue perfectly fine on her own.

Angels has sold around double of Boys as well, so is hands down the biggest solo hit.
