what hubris?Nemesis often follows hubris.
Regardless, if you persist on being a pain in the arse on the way up, don’t be surprised if it’s a bumpy landing on the way down. Be yourself, be honest, but also try and be bit humble. Let’s face it, there’s a million potential popstars out there.what hubris?
some of y'all are really fucking weird about her speaking HER TRUTH (and by all accounts the truth) about what it's like to be an artist (woman) in the industry. just shut up and make pop music!!! is the vibe being given off. no wonder she HATES YOU.
where has she been not humble? is it somehow arrogant to say people who are abusing you or screaming at you in the street are not a good thing for your mental health? by being humble you mean shut up and take it?Be yourself, be honest, but also try and be bit humble.
OK grandpa!Whilst we’re at it, there’s no such thing as speaking ‘her, my or your truth’ (my eyes could roll right out of my head at THAT). There’s just the truth.
you said it yourself though, it's not comparible. we know stan culture has gotten a lot worse. Bebe Rexha has had bottles thrown at her on stage multiple times! this is not normal behaviour.I'm trying to equate it to my 9-5 desk job (which I realise is a bit apples Vs oranges, but whatever). Of course we all like to have a moan, but it's to a point. We still have an atmosphere to keep and are all part of that.
Some of it wreaks a bit of entitled Gen Z (/boomer) to me.
nobody said otherwise love.People are allowed to view it differently, Jark babe.
I know nothing of her back story to know if she was a child star or anything like that, but the fact that she hasn't reached this level of fame until her mid 20s would make me hope that she'll be able to weather the shit coming her way now.My fear is that she cracks and becomes like Britney Spears, especially given how her legal next of kin feel about much of what she says and does.
why would a UK crowd turn on her for slagging off America? i'm calling bullshit. but would Jim McNulty volunteer chauffeur lie?
Babe.why would a UK crowd turn on her for slagging off America? i'm calling bullshit. but would Jim McNulty volunteer chauffeur lie?

She is EXTREMELY gen z - and I think it is important to remember that and how young she is in the grand scheme of things (despite being almost OLD for a breakthrough popstar). Many have a tendency at that age to be idealistic about things - when she first started kicking off about the fame stuff, it almost felt like she was saying "I want all the good bits of my job and none of the bad bits - thanks!" which came across as very naive. I also think she made a bit of an error speaking initially about things like being asked for photos by fans when she is out at brunch with friends, because that stuff is a BIT part and parcel of being in the public eye and as long as people are respectful, you kind of have to deal with it. However, I fully support her shining a light on and pushing back on some of the more extreme aspects of what celebrities (and especially female celebrities) have to put up with. Building on what Octy said, I think she would REALLY benefit from some mentorship from people in the industry who have been THROUGH IT.People are allowed to view it differently, Jark babe.
I think she seems an absolute nightmare, and whilst I agree with you that she of course should not be abused or mis-treated, part of being a famous popstar is being in the public eye so if that offends her so much, don’t fucking be a popstar. Some of it wreaks a bit of entitled Gen Z (/boomer) to me.

I'm very conscious that the vast majority of people in this thread are men who don't appear to be considering how much of their reaction to her behaviour is conditioned by societal expectations of women to be passive, amenable and people-pleasing... or who don't seem to be recognising the media's appetite to tear women down for failing to meet that expectation.
