Eurovision 2019 Second Semi Final - LIVE! (1 Viewer)

I see that there are still better odds available on the UK to win than there are for some countries that didn't qualify.
 
In terms of tonight’s semi, Sergey is by far ahead on YouTube with over 100K already, Netherlands 2nd then Switzerland.

TBH having watched the ridiculous perf, I wouldn’t mind Sergey winning AT ALL.
 
Looking at the eventual finalists, this feels like more of a Western final than usual. But I've done no research on previous years to back that up.
 
Well the first half / second half draw tonight went pretty much perfectly for me - Sweden and Netherlands in the first half (which will hopefully make the contest slightly more open, also Sweden away from the UK), Norway for some fun in the second.
 
Also I realised tonight that those flag triangles at the start of each song are CGI aren't they? I'm pretty sure the triangles in the ceiling of the arena are only frames, without any central screens or ability to display patterns.
 
Just caught up with this thread and the second semi final

I’m not sure we did see the winner in this semi final. I know the odds for The Netherlands have shortened but it just didn’t feel like they did anything with the staging. I think my expectations were too high, but I really think this leaves the door open for Italy (or Australia) on Saturday.

I liked Sweden tonight, but it wasn’t as effective as Melodifestivalen. They need to sort out the camera work for when the backing singers join him on stage. I don’t understand why they didn’t just shoot it like Melodifestivalen. It’s not like they’ve changed the performance.

Azerbaijan was really great, I can see this finishing top 5.
 
Oh and nice for North Macedonia to get to the final, I suspect she did well with the juries
 
The turgid bint glut of Latvia/Romania/Denmark felt fucking endless but overall I liked this semi. Norway and Switzerland obvious highlights, and Malta having a nervous breakdown at qualifying.

Switzerland and Azerbaijan both drawing second half makes them really strong contenders
 
Am I right in saying that there were only three second half places available before tonight’s semi?
 
Some way down on the 560 posts the second semi final had last year.

Actually I don't like it shaved but omg last night sealed my vote for Saturday. Luca Henny served biceps, shoulders and a bop. The thirsty gay in me won. I've spent too much time on PopJustice.

I view armpit grooming very much the same as pubic grooming. Nobody wants it long and straggly, but the bald look makes me slightly queasy.
 
Just watching the show now. Early thoughts:

- Norway were brilliant. The song finally clicked with me, lady's vocals in particular

- I love Netherlands so, SO much. I think it's the best vocal of the competition. But I am disappointed in the camera work. Too many sweeping shots.

- Malta has such a great song, but zero stage presence. She's lucky to have all that graphic stuff in the background.

NOT-LIVE and I'm yet to read back through this thread, but I've just watched the show and...:

- Netherlands is barely a banger but amazing in the recaps. Fingers crossed it wins.
- Sweden was great but could do with less jiggling around
- Switzerland's chorus should come with a contagiousy warning - AMAZING
- Norway's main bloke is off-putting but the song overall is killer
- So glad Call-It-What-You-Want-Macedonia went through just because
- Fuck off Ireland
- Oh Croatia, I quite liked the song but the perf was rotten
 
Having just watched this and therefore putting my thoughts down in one place:

My 12 points go to...NORWAY! Cheesy Europop of the highest order, it was brilliantly performed, loved the crowd going for it and was just right up my street. Marvellous.
I predicted 10/10 of the finalists. One of the most obvious ever. (Although Albania was the only one I wasn't sure about on merit, but must admit I saw our VoR said something like "Surprised and glad this qualified" but managed to stop before I saw what it was, and I'm guessing it was that and that swayed me...)
Old CHINGY is hot as fuck...until he sings. Loses the lot.
The BBC needs to not bring that Bristolian woman again- she's fucking appalling.
Sergey was great, I thought. The song is not amazing, true, but the performance was marvellous. As were his thighs.
Albania was my revelation of the night- loved every second of that and so glad she qualified.
Sweden was unsurprisingly brilliant, but god I'd have loved a key change. Some of the camera shots were terrible, though- you couldn't SEE him!
The fucking state of that Irish entry.
From the clip, I didn't think our entry was that bad at all- I thought he was going to be a terrible performer from what people were saying. Obviously we'll still finish 20-26th.

Anyway, ranking only things I really liked:

12- Norway
10- Albania
8- Russia
7- Sweden
6- Switzerland
