Finland 2024: Windows95man - No Rules! (1 Viewer)

From a British perspective, it's funny to see a song which peaked at #1, and is at #51 now after 49 days straight on the chart being described as not having major local success.

Although interesting to compare that at the same point in its chart run, Cha Cha Cha was at #2 in Finland and had a 132k streams daily compared to 27k for No Rules!

It does make you think it could have much less initial impact, before you even consider the competition.
 
I'd be interested to know what was rejected from Finland's national selection this year. I do think they really dropped the ball compared to last. Maybe they just assumed Sara Siipola would walk it, but that feels very short sighted of them.
 
I think people are presuming a disaster for this and being a bit hasty in doing so...
 
I don't think it'll do disastrously, but I don't see how it advances Finland's goal of establishing themselves as a long-term Eurovision powerhouse. It's a lazy, borderline embarrassing choice that leans into all the worst elements of what people expect from Eurovision.

It does feel like that is the way the wind is blowing in the contest right now, post-Kaarja. Hopefully it will be short-lived.
 
This has right-clicked and and ticked my Voodoo3DFX chip and then some. Very much in the trail and shadow of Cha Cha Cha, but I'm here for this particular probably hopefully short-lived brand of novelty.
