Miley Cyrus - Something Beautiful (new visual album out May 30th)

I hope Katy Perry and J-Lo kept her a spare seat in pop purgatory
 
I admire her balls to go uncommercial, but yeah, this isn't for me. I hope her fans like it and stream it because it's a good mood piece (unfortunately, I am never in this mood).
 
Her voice is LUSH. She looks STUN. The song is... Well I don't think it'll be going on regular rotation but let's see. As a Dead Petz stan I am at least confident that she has the chops to make a great album when she's drawing outside the lines.

love the middle 8, great songwriting on this one. a bit busy production wise but I'll get used to it. an immediate 9
 
To be honest though I like it all so far. I thought Prelude was quite camp. Hopefully the album shapes up nicely - I've wanted to get into her last 2 albums but they never stuck for me

Its not the same, but for some reason, Kylie Into the Blue is coming to mind. Which of course, I love.
 
Between this, Ariana's "Twilight Zone" and Haim's "Relationships", it seems bright, breezy and relistenable is BACK on the menu for 2025 :disco:

I wonder if it might have fared better had she not released 'Something Beautifoy' half a day earlier? It's a very good song, and in a world where 'Die with a Smile' is a global smash it feels like it should be an easy hit.
 
I can see it growing. but I wonder if the noisy production is a bit much for the tastes of the casual Miley fan. there's a lot going on

She doesn't have to leave her Malibu mansion for promo and doesn't do social media anymore, so I suspect she's happy with the arrangement.
 
This has come up a few times in my automatic Spotify plays. I didn’t realise she had new material, it’s very instant! What’s wrong with people making boring old Flowers a hit and snubbing this?
 
I really like this but it doesn’t feel like there is any appetite for it anywhere
