Old TOTP (BBC4)

The Fugees sampling ABBA before Marge did. And THAT WAS THAT for them. A very brief imperial era.

The SGs peaked with Who Do You Think You Are. They were never better visually iconic at least.

How on earth did Christopher Lee of all people end up in a late-90s Damage video?! :D

Bizarre

There's probably a parallel universe where Kylie herself would have been hawking likeable pap like Gina G's Fresh in the late 90s.

Probably best for all concerned that things went a different way.

This Divine Comedy song keeps threatening to turn into Anita Dobson's Anyone Can Fall In Love, which is quite distracting.

Still better than the hateful National Express though.

I probably have more generous feelings towards Boyzone at the moment than I ever have in 25 years.

That said, Isn’t It A Wonder is complete bilge and Ronan looks like a Ellen DeGeneres in this performance.

"Isn't It A Wonder" is amongst the LOWEST POINTS in their catalogue of COMPLETE BILGE

Why is he randomly standing there for NO GOOD REASON?

What is with the odd dancers in red hoods?!!

Most surreal video ever made for a by-the-numbers R&B boy band hit. Like a BAD ACID TRIP

If "Fresh" was a person, it'd be an overly enthusiastic TWAT trying to encourage you on to the dancefloor for ENFORCED LINE DANCING FUN at BUTLINS

I'd forgotten all about this blah 3T song. And I think THAT WAS THAT for them. GOOD. THEY WERE SHIT.

I'm really not enjoying these 2 episodes, Lisa Stansfield aside :D

I'd also forgotten N-Trance doing "D.I.S.C.O."

It really was ALL DOWNHILL after the MAJESTY of "Set You Free"

"Where Can I Find Love" by Livin' Joy :disco:

Tameka effortlessly ICONIC in a leopardskin outfit & giant hat that appears to be paying tribute to Alyson Williams (but probably isn't)

"Block Rockin' Beats" by The Chemical Brothers - it's not that I dislike it, but no way is it topping the charts in any other era than the peak of first week discounting

At this point, I'm at peace with the fact that I'll always be playing catch-up on a random Sunday when I have nowt else to do. I'm good with it and I hope that you are too.

Yes but also - a banger. Dig Your Own Hole is a great album.

The Supernaturals - because one Supergrass wasn't enough. (NB - yes it was)

I wonder if The Orb felt sick spinning around on those spinny things, quite obviously doing fuck all. Not quite as much fun as the chess playing appearance for The Blue Room but still...good choon.

ooOOOOOooooh! @ Ardal's "at No 7, can't quite read this...Pavement with Beetlebum" :D

LL Cool J was actually decent value in the 80s but this is diabolical.

Mansun...generally a bad band but their prog rock album "Six" is weirdly fun if you're ever in the mood. Paul Draper is a weird bloke these days - recently subject to a restraining order too from an ex-partner too. Yuk.

Oops @ Peter Andre saying that Mark Owen's career was "going from strength to strength" when he would never trouble the top 10 as a solo artist again (IIRC).

I have no memory of OTT at all. Bit early for a new Boyzone, wasn't it?

Oh, Apollo 440 in the era when they had the singer from Gaye Bykers On Acid as their hype man. I preferred GBOA myself.

Eels with their tiny instruments was good fun; the only time I actually enjoyed watching a band trashing their gear.

Why were people doing shit Bob Marley covers around this time? The Fugees and now Warren G. Had there been an anniversary of some sort, his 50th birthday maybe? Anyway, this is BAD. And I mean in the correct use of the word as in, it's shit. Not the shit, just shit.
