Paris 2024 - Day 2

50 seconds seems a bit excessive, compared to 2 second for a minor fault…

But she’d have lost anyway.

Her Wikipedia page needs some work:

Her strong arms gave her an edge at canoeing and at her debut at the junior worlds she gained three medals. Canoeing was inportant to her and when she was forced to stop because of an injury she turned to self-harming. The bullying continued until she was fourteen and one consolation is that she is going to her second Olympics (in 2024) and she suspects her bullies lives would not provide much comparison.

Does anyone know what the song was played before Dalida after the judo final just now?

It might be the whole having a hat on thing, but I'm finding Andy Murray surprisingly tolerable to look at in this game.

Léon Marchand in the 400m freestyle was INSANE. 7 lads all with a rizla's width between them, and him out metres in front

Sad for the team GB man coming fourth AGAIN. He can't have many more Olympic medal chances in him :(

Sorry how big is that swimming arena? Presume it’s going to filled with concrete after the games and become something more long term?

The swimming competitions are happening at Paris La Défense Arena, an already existing multi-purpose arena. I think the Paris Aquatic Centre (diving, water polo) in Saint Denis is the only venue that was built for the games.

Princess Ann probably quite happy not to have to sing our national anthem, at least

I've just popped Eurosport on and the HORSEY EVENT is in front of the Palace of Versailles. Stunning sunshine to boot.

A serve indeed.
40,000 people there too. I thought the Parisians didn’t want the Olympics 🤷🏻‍♂️
