Paris 2024 - Day 3 (1 Viewer)

The commentators seem to be KIND OF EMBARRASSED about that :D

We’re nearly at the last four in the horse-horse, BBC might cut away.

Is there a chance the French will protest (in French style)?

That was magnificent. I expected him to win, but to have to do it like that was just incredible.

McEwen goes clean. At least one GB bronze in the horse horse horse.

Poor Victor Koretzky though, in front of his home crowd, he just didn’t have the legs right at the end. He will no doubt look back fondly on the medal in the end, but he must be disappointed having come so, so, so close to making it a French double gold in the cross-country races.

From the Guardian live blog. Not sure I quite saw it as him not having the legs. Maybe a little dink shoudlnt really bother someone at that level?

As a biased British person anyway I think mountain biking should have a little bit of argy bargy. It’s about taking the right lines at the right moment. And Pidcock did that.

Collett goes clean too. Potential gold/silver if the next two both mess up.

Oh I thought Christopher Burton was the name of the horse. It’s deffo the name of a 99/1 I’d put a tenner on at the national.

The mountain biking medal ceremony going down well with the crowd :D

Victor realising he’s best not putting a length of cardboard between his legs for his big photo moment :D

I missed this:

That wasn't the bit where they collided, though. They disappeared into the trees and when they came out he'd overtaken- even the commentators weren't sure how it happened. I'm guessing that was then.

It was a fair win. Koretzky fluffed it at the end. Collisions happen in competitive cycling.

And in a lot of competitive cycling (grand tours, track) people get disqualified for colliding.

The difference here is that the organisers put two tracks in that led to one. Nobody's going to put their brakes on and politely let the other through.

Even the Frenchman apparently said it was fair game and he has no complaints.

The Canoe Slalom is worth keeping an eye on. The GB guy just went into first with 3 to go.

In many ways, it isn’t really fair that the French guy was allowed to have an outboard motor.

This is so disappointing. They are just showing people sitting around and not the British gymnast.
