I very much enjoy The Rest Is Entertainment. Always interesting and listening to Marina Hyde makes me feel slightly more highbrow even when she is just talking about the telly and whatnot.
I'm a sucker for anything that Richard Osman goes near. I resent them going to two episodes a week as I had enough to listen to before they came into the mix.

This started coming up through YouTube and I’ve transitioned to listening to the actual podcast now. I’m really really liking it, it’s definitely for anyone who thought the Media Guardian section was the highlight of the week in the paper. Lots of little bits of info like 1m people watched Mr. Bates on demand and marathoned the lot in one session or how BARB actually works.

I wonder if they’ll answer my question if men are briefed about their bulges when sat down wearing tight trousers?

Oh I liked the bit of info that someone who worked on the oil rigs was solely responsible for a show on ITV 3 gaining 80k viewers the weeks he was onshore and then losing that 80k when he was working :D

Yes I've been listening to this since week 1. They're a great insightful pair. Lot's of lovely entertainment world TIT TAT.

I binged Ghost Story recently, really good. I've also discovered Maintenance Phase and Fad Camp, they're both about the wellness industry and fad diets and can be quite entertaining.

The chat about AI's imminent impact on this week's main The Rest Is Entertainment episode was quite dispiriting. The hollowing out of the culture :(

Yeah. It was quite a depressing state of things to come :(

The Gogglebox tidbit in the next episode was quite good though. I like that Netflix sit around going “how will this play out on Gogglebox?” :D

Anyone listened to the Alan Carr podcast ‘Life’s a beach’? Any good?

My current faves, besides TGPL, are Pop Pantheon and 60 Songs that Explain The 90’s

The best podcast I'm listening to (or in this case watching) lately is Twinnuendo. It's twins, one a drag queen, the other a former Christian pastor, reconnecting and talking about their ongoing family trauma among other things. Sounds a bit heavy, and it is in parts, but they're both really funny and likeable etc. The gay half is Darby from IMHO. Anyway I love it.

I'm a bit obsessed with News Agents and News Agents US atm.

Emily Maitles is obviously iconic but Jon Sopel saying 'the BEER CHUGGING, frat party BRO vote' and 'It's abZURD' every two minutes is high camp.

I really liked the chat on TRIE about Reach media and click-bait journalism. I’d take a paid for deep dive even further into that. Interesting that Guardian went the opposite and stopped loading their site with articles just for the sake of it and it didn’t change page views.

But probably a bit more achievable when you’re a national newspaper and not just site that’s purely based on click-throughs from social media.

Saying that I’d probably visit Glasgow Live on my own doing if it actually had some quality to it.

The Rest is Entertainment are starting a premium version with in-depth extra episodes (plus ad-free etc.). It would be the first podcast I’d consider paying a monthly sub for.
I’m tempted by this for the It’s a Royal Knockout deep dive.

I watched that on YouTube. They really go QUITE DEEP. The former pastor really is a curio. But I think that of anyone who leaves a religion, especially being in a relatively prominent position.

Just finished episode one and loved it. THANKS DUB.

A nice antidote to the centrist dad ick I received from post #74, too

I went off IMHO when I went off Drag Race, but I still love Darby Lynn. I note her and Alexis now have a non drag race podcast.

Four eps in to Twinnuendo and I just LOVE how much of it is them speaking ill of the dead (i.e. older relatives or awful OAPs from his congregation) and/or their bigoted dad with the cancer. They are a TONIC.

Excited to hear how they deal with the November election results when I get there, too.

I'm now doing this too and never have I wanted a man to die more just to hear their reaction :disco:
