The Italian gossip sites TRASH ITALIANO & BICCY are saying Mahmood and Annalisa will be among this year's co-hosts. Which means they'll both perform their full discographies during the many interval acts.

Very much looking forward to Annalisa's Bellissima/Mon Amour/Sinceramente medley.

So the Annalisa rumour came to nothing in the end. :(

But we are getting Elettra Lamborghini & Mahmood among the TEN co-hosts this year.
 
The first listening party for the media took place earlier today and the initial reviews are out. Their current favourite is a ballad about caring for an elderly parent living with Alzheimer's. Simone Cristicchi is also a graduate of the school of Italian SPEAK-SINGING which Moopy loves so much.

Giorgia and Achille Lauro are being touted as possible winners. They've also entered ballads so Italy may very well be back to normal business after last year...

Brunori Sas & Liz Jones lookalike Lucio Corsi are the REAL MUSIC darlings of the press, who I doubt will be quite so popular with the public.

I suspect this year is going to be FUN FOR WTG rather than Moopy. :D!

I feel after the female pop diva apocalypse of last year we’re due a year of dreary ‘throw my lard carcus in the mud’ throaty SAD SONGS sung by hanging on by a thread earnest twinks and the occasional man who would be somewhat fuckable without the weighty BAGGAGE. Delivered in a sombre fashion over 4 hours interspersed with the occasional monologue by a frail former chanteuse delivering a grim soliloquy about cat aids.
 
Buckle up girls and make sure you’re stocked up on grappa and heroin because the tarot is telling me this will be quite a bumpy ride.
 
I'm personally looking forward to passing out and narrowly averting suffocating on my own tongue at least four times over this year's marathon :disco:

Rai have called it the TECHNO HALL, complete with TECHNO CHANDELIERS and a MOVING STAIRCASE (which obviously won't cause any Turin-style disasters).

As in the case of what Bocchini defines as “sculpture/walls” and which – he explains – «will twist in three dimensions, all in an essentiality of lines, in search of a clean and elegant image: the elegance of a harmonious scene that will embrace the spectators, transferring emotions, and the elegance of the form that, through electromechanical movements, will transform itself to serve the songs, even managing to disappear completely».

A Techno-Party Hall that extends, together with the orchestra on the sides, towards the public and that hides quite a few surprises: «The sinuosity, plasticity and elegance of the architectural lines – adds Bocchini – will embrace the technological motorizations with their harmonious movements.
