Gutted that I’ve basically been fleeced for a shit ticket. I will never even look at VIP again. AXS don’t even allow cancellations.
Stop reading Say Hey. That would be my top tip. It made me anxious despite having no intention of buying a ticket. I can't imagine what state I'd have been in if I had.

I just absolutely abhor being ripped off for anything. It can go so far as ruining my enjoyment of said thing. :D

I think I’m more annoyed by the fact that I’m going to this on my own when it seems there was every possibility that a couple of friends could have come with and ended up with cheaper (and equally as good) tickets. Ah well, I’ll enjoy the lanyard I suppose. :bruised:

Are these ticket prices considered high? I mean they seem pretty cheap to me compared to what I typically pay for good seats.

In fairness i think we've just been spoiled by relatively modestly priced Kylie tickets in the past.

I paid £16.50 for Intimate & Live :disco:

The good old days.

My Post Malone tickets set me back $1000 for 2 seats.

Billy Idol this Sunday I got relatively cheap for $85 or so each

This isn't Kylie related obviously, but question for regular big-gig goers. Does anybody have experience of going to a large venue gig that didn't sell particularly well?

Janet Jackson is in Manchester next Tuesday and there's absolutely loads of tickets left (SHOCKINGLY :eyes:) - at what point, if at all, do they accept reality and start slashing prices?

Failing that I'm tempted to get a couple of seats in the Gods and then try moving to a better position once the show starts.

I think it might be more likely that they'll just curtain off sections and upgrade people than cut prices.

Although there are sometimes 2 for 1 deals on Groupon or similar too.

With Girls Aloud’s second gig here prices went down about a month to go. However, with Gloria Estefan they just curtained off some of the venue and moved some of the cheap seats down to better ones.

Oh I see the entire back section isn't even onsale for that concert :ToneNervous:

So is it better to get a cheap ticket and hope for an upgrade? Do they usually announce stuff like that on the day? They're still selling 3rd level tickets at £70 each (Still a bit steeper than I'd LIKE for a half-empty mime fest TBH) but they look to have sold barely more than a third of the floor, first and second level seats. :bruised:

If it were me I'd hold out and do that on the day or day before if there's no deals to be had...?

THAT SAID I have no experience of this

Tbh, if you're not arsed enough to spend £70 (I get it), I'd hold off and hope to swoop in for a better bargain later.

Forgetting the recent controversy, when did JJ stop being a box office draw?

I know for the Beyonce Tour, people would just buy whatever seat to have tickets and then jump on the bargains you can typically get on the day of the show. So many people buy up tickets to scalp and then at the last minutes sell them for cheap just to get something back.

She hasn't had a UK hit in almost 25 years and she hasn't done as much work to preserve her legacy as the likes of Cher and Madonna. I'm not hugely shocked really.

I'm mainly interested because she's a legend who almost certainly won't tour the UK again in any major capacity based on this. But I'd probably skip it if one of my friends wasn't really invested in going, despite the fact that I'm sure she only knows about five of her songs. She's just hoping there'll be an extended MJ tribute. :D

All things considered, I find that a bit sad. I wonder what her ticket sales are like in the States? @Joseph ?

SO HELP ME GOD I will never pay three figures for a concert ticket

*books flight to Rio for a 20 min Now United PA*

NO offence to anyone who does do so!

Actually I spent hundreds on Eurovision tickets, does that count lol x

I don’t THINK I've ever spent over £100 for a concert.

Although I did first time for the Abba Cartoon :D

They really haven’t released much info as far as attendance and revenue BUT it’s said the tour has grossed around 50 million so far. It will be interesting to see the actual box office numbers. (If we ever get them)

I saw her back on the State Of The World Tour and she was amazing.

Eurovision aside, the most I've spent is £75 for Lady Gaga's chromatica tour, and those were standing tickets.

Three figures is insane and I couldn't justify it, especially in a stadium which is a terrible way to experience live music. Do longer stints in arenas please.

(Oh, Kylie is doing arenas. As you were)

I saw Girls Aloud tickets on the “papering” services up to a week before the gigs. I supposed it depends on the management how they distribute the unsold tickets as arena shows for Pop concerts only rarely do it.

I see Janet’s second date at The O2 due to the “sold out” first date (it isn’t and never has been) is only about half full with really only the front blocks sold at all.

I think this Kylie tour might be the most I've paid for a single artist. I forget what Kate Bush cost but given it was over a decade ago I'm guessing a fair bit less.

The standard now for major acts to go over three figures has definitely dissuaded me from seeing others like Stevie Nicks, Bette Midler and Madonna.

Even less established acts are in on it now. I had a brief look for Sabrina Carptenter's upcoming tour but for somebody with three well-known songs at this point the prices were insane. But I assume people did buy them...

Maybe EVIL RANDY is blocking them from slashing the prices on top of the whole Trump/Harris fiasco. :(

Are you seeing Janet @Ellie ?

I couldn't not attend this Kylie tour - I have been to every one she has done. I will however go for bog standard tickets next time around - I didn't have great tickets for Les Folies but they sufficed.

Yeah, some of the prices to me are utterly insane and I do think YOU SPENT HOW MUCH?!, but if it gives you pleasure, go for it. There's enough about life which is fucking miserable - don't underestimate what gives you joy.

I mean you just spent 340 quid on a floor seat behind the B stage when a seat in the first block behind the floor (so basically the same area) was 115 :D

Yes. For the same reasons as @VoR as it is my one and only chance to see her due to all of the previous Jancellations. I was convinced she’d Jancel again due to Tito’s death, but it seems not. It just feels all a bit wrong now.

This is also the most I’ve ever spent on a concert (the same as your Kylie ticket today) as I was desperate for front block seats and did the VIP thing.

Kylie today was really in a whim. If I’d not been offered decent seats on the first try I probably wouldn’t have got them, just because I’ve already seen her 8 times now. Might as well go for a 10th in the future now.

Ooh. Don't feel so bad now. I'd like to see Janet but don't know anyone who would be remotely interested. I might do what @VoR is doing and see what I can nab nearer to the O2 show.

I'm not sure why I didn't see Janet in the late 80s or 90s. I'd have no desire to see her now though, even aside from my hatred of huge gigs.
