I only heard of people in the league of Jessan, Angelino, or Klara Hammarström. Nobody too big so far unfortunately.
Chris Klafford could be interesting. But he insists on singing his awful song for the third year in a row. SVT doesn't want him like that.
They also crave to include any ABBA: anything sung by Frida, written by Björn or at least sampled by Kempe/G;son.

Get him a "What's Happened To Us" rewrite or something by Patrik Isaksson. Aka something with a MELODY.

Is sampling allowed for Melfest?

I do like Klara but think maybe another year off would not hurt. Jessica needs to come with the appropriate material.

No, but they can steal some ABBA melodies and create a new sound, after all it's been done in 2011, 2012 or 2023. :D
The thing is, they would like *ABBA* in the competition somehow. We will see if they manage.

As for Chris: Yes, he has sent the same song three years in a row. He changed it a bit but it's still the same bore.

Lili & Susie have sent in a song this year too. But I doubt it's as strong as their 2009 entry.

Curious what artists will leak this week. I wished Tobbe and Aftonbladet would leak them one by one instead of waiting for 3-4 confirmations at a time.
 
I've come across some rumours about Renaida in the last week. There's mixed chatter about whether she merely submitted an entry or if she has already been chosen. It's said to be uptempo. It will be intriguing to see if SVT has indeed chosen to bury the the hatchet.
 
Army Of Lovers have a new singer, Olya Polyakova (she was in the Ukrainian national final a few times) and sent in a song to the Ukrainian NF - they’ve been rejected for performing in Russia in 2014.

An deciding factor for entering Melfest next year is Samir's economic situation. He has been severely impacted by first the pandemic and then the recent down turn in the Swedish housing market.

Samir asserts that he purchased his items at significantly higher prices.



By all accounts Samir & Viktor's limited summer tour has been an unequivocal success :disco:

Clara with a C also part of today's names. I would love Sweden to use the opportunity of not having to compete in the semi-finals to send something of the "Behöver inte dig idag" ilk.

Clara coming back is an excellent surprise. I'm just hoping Freebird is pushing for her to show visual creativity too in 2024.

Debuting with just a mic and/or guitar can be acceptable alongside an top-notch original song. Second time and I expect her bringing something akin to disco boobs or full bush.
