I mean I knew someone whose favourite Madonna song was Hanky Panky.

...either that or submarines is her idea for dealing with the "small boats"

Suella Braverman must announce she's not English else Judeo-Christian civilisation* will fall.

Braverman is a a complete twat ofc (and that's being generous), but fwiw as sb of broadly similar heritage and cultural capital, I've never identified with being English either (except when it comes to football where I have no choice, eh). Maybe because British has always felt like the more inclusive umbrella term, and there's a certain safety net offered by that - less questioning of an identity that's precarious and constantly subject to micro-aggressions, if not much worse. That said, I abhor the idea of tethering demonyms to ethnicity and find the discourse initiated by that podcast hella troubling given the present socio-political context. Suella being self-hating is accurate af but it'd be nothing more than cringeworthy were it not for her actively going out there and fanning the flames with shit like this. Hate it. Hate her.

If you're stupid enough to admit it, you probably deserve it

(The perk is for more likely to be for Ticketmaster who are trying to avoid various crackdowns, investigations etc)

Free speech Kemi now trying to get an Irish rap troupe LOCKED UP for anti Tory slurs.

If Glastonbury had dropped them it would have been a shit show. There were Palestine flags everywhere last year.

Why is everyone losing their minds over some performative edgelording? Does anyone actually believe them to be a threat to society as a whole, or MPs specifically?

The fact that they're released a full length feature film that documents just how off their tits they are on stage basically omits them from any liability. If everyone was held accountable for everything they said on coke we'd all be in prison.

There is an element of Kneecap being "an act". As has been pointed out, there is barely a comedian alive from whom you couldn't snip half a sentence and claim they were terrible people in some way or another. Their manager is absolutely spot on - it's a manufactured distraction.

As for their sales and streaming numbers, surely that was an easily foreseeable consequence of giving them such a platform. Even I'm interested now and I am scared of them just from looking.

The mad thing is I watched them at Coachella and thought they were quite tame, and this is where its all started from!
