Well this looks dreadful. Todrick Hall getting work in 2022? Not on my television. Also starring Brad Goreski (who I thought would be above this) and some others.

Also Chris Salvatore (Eating Out) was reportedly cast but was fired for a week because some of the gays didn't want to work with him after finding out he had an OnlyFans. :eyes:

Haha, look awful doesn't it haha, wouldn't it be awful if we all watched it haha, just to make of fun of it of course haha
Live thread 9pm it is then

This will be the new TRAITORS. Moopy phenomenon

I mean the A List happened. This isn’t new with a much worse cast.

They really should just follow the format of Drag Queens of London (but without the drag) and have a bunch of friends and enemies going on nights out, putting the pieces together the next day, sleeping with their boyfriends and not apologising for it, or whatever the storylines were on that one.

I don’t think there’s one gay in the whole world who wants to be part of that friendship group.

The ratio this is getting on twitter, I'm howling.

But yes, a hate watch if I ever saw one.

The drag race fans are unhinged.

The Twitter account deleted a bunch of tweets after people started spamming the replies with scat porn videos :o And now they've turned off replies. What a mess!

So nice of them to promote Chris Salvatore's work after he was unceremoniously sacked.

Scat porn ban on a gay housewives Twitter...we're literally living through history u guys

That writeup has some of the most beautifully brutal reads I've read in a while :D

Can someone post a link (to the episode)

I already chuckled at "colossal, gay nightmare" when I saw it on my twitter (following :eyes:) feed this morning.

SoMe one is not happy (the reaction by the drag race fans is demented but he’s so unlikeable)

I think we are fortunate to be at a point where LGBTQ+ representation is fairly widespread now, it’s not “any representation is good representation” now.

The point he makes about people wanting to see RH or the Kardashians is a bit flimsy. It’s well documented that rich straight people can be vacuous, entitled and unhinged, which is guess is a reason why a lot of people watch them.

As a gay person I don’t feel like my life is enriched or the cause is furthered by knowing that actually yes, rich gay people can be vacuous, entitled and unhinged too. Especially if it’s bloody Todrick

Oh Todrick.

Didn't you see the reaction to Bros? Sometimes, things just don't work. Take your pay cheque for season 1, know it won't be getting renewed, and move on. Audiences are fickle and some projects are just duds. It really isn't that deep!

But a gay black man came out on the show! This could have been a fantastic opportunity for viewers to discover that gay black men exist - instead they're switching off straight after RuPaul's Drag Race :(

He seems like a dick, and I have no interest in this rubbish excuse for a show.

But something Sheena mentioned in the Bros thread does make me consider Todricks point. Myself definitely included, it does seem like as a community on the whole we are more than happy to jump in and tear down other gays doing entertainment projects (be that TV, or gay popstars, television presenters, movies or whatnot) and write it off as rubbish and embarrassing when it may not actually be any worse than the efforts of another sexuality.

I don’t know whether that’s some sort of internal homophobia, partly minor jealousy, or just that as a marginalised community we sort of feel we have the right to fire things off but it is something that may have some truth to it.

Show still looks shit, mind.

Well you’re right, it may not be any worse than its straight equivalent, but that’s still a very low bar

But it does seem to be worse than it's straight equivalent (housewives).

For a start, they're clearly all pretty much strangers, whereas housewives casts have some connections already. Also, Todrick specifically is pretty successful and well known, in a way that isn't really comparable to many housewives. Storylines in housewives are often about trying to break out and become public figures (and never really reaching the peak they delusionally think they deserve). Someone like Todrick doesn't have nearly the same space to grow, so I imagine is much less interesting to watch than, say, Countess Luann.

And yes, this analysis has been done without watching a second of WeHo
